Ain Shams University President Inaugurates the Orientation Session for Business School Students at Ain Shams National University

Prof. Dr. Mohamed Diaa Zain El Abedeen, President of Ain Shams University and Acting President of Ain Shams National University, inaugurated the orientation session for the first cohort of students at the Faculty of Business, Ain Shams National University. The event was attended by Prof. Mohamed Salheen, Vice President of Ain Shams National University for Academic Affairs; Prof. Farid Moharram, Dean of the Faculty of Business at Ain Shams University; Prof. Hayam Wahba, Professor at the Faculty of Business; Dr. Noha Adel, Director of Business Programs at Ain Shams National University; and Mr. Samir Othman, Acting Secretary-General of Ain Shams National University.

         
   
         

In his opening remarks, Prof. Mohamed Diaa emphasized that the Faculty of Commerce at Ain Shams University is rich in distinguished academic talent, with its graduates holding key leadership and influential positions across various sectors in the country.

He noted that the strength of any university lies in its human capital and accumulated expertise, a distinguishing feature of Ain Shams National University, which from its inception, has drawn upon the legacy and capabilities of the parent institution, Ain Shams University.

         
   
         

He added that Ain Shams University is one of Egypt’s oldest and most prestigious universities, and that Ain Shams National University has started strong from day one, leveraging this heritage and operating with a forward-thinking vision. This includes offering innovative academic programs aligned with the evolving demands of the labor market.

He stressed the university is committed to graduating highly competitive students through high-quality academic programs. He underscored that the university experience is not limited to classroom education but rather marks the first step toward a successful career rooted in knowledge, while also equipping students with essential language and interpersonal skills.

Prof. Mohamed Diaa advised students to make the most of this formative period in their lives, as it lays the foundation for both professional and personal success. He encouraged them to be constantly curious and proactive in expanding their knowledge.

He concluded by expressing his sincere appreciation to Prof. Hayam Wahba for her instrumental role in shaping the Faculty of Business in its current distinguished form.

Prof. Mohamed Salehin, Vice President for Academic Affairs, also expressed his gratitude to Prof. Mohamed Diaa for his unwavering support, and to Prof. Farid Moharram for facilitating the launch of the new college. He extended special thanks to Prof. Hayam Wahba for her tremendous efforts in developing outstanding academic programs.

He congratulated the students on joining the Faculty of Business, stressing the importance of this field of study, as all sectors of society rely heavily on business administration and marketing—critical pillars for progress.

He emphasized that commerce and economics are the backbone of nations, and that Business students are the future leaders who will drive economic growth. He explained that the academic programs offered grant degrees that serve the local and international community, while helping students develop strong personalities and preparing them to contribute effectively to national development.

He reaffirmed that the Faculty of Business benefits from the full academic and scientific expertise of Ain Shams University’s faculty, encouraging students to work hard, build friendships, and develop themselves throughout this important phase of their lives.

In his remarks, Prof. Farid Moharram, Dean of the Faculty of Business, expressed his pride in the official start of the academic journey at Ain Shams National University. He described it as a “connected–yet–independent” institution, with Ain Shams University remaining the primary source of academic excellence and staffing.

He noted that the Faculty of Business has launched two distinctive programs, taught by a highly qualified group of faculty members, and urged students to build lasting memories and actively participate in extracurricular activities.

Prof. Hayam Wahba then delivered a welcoming address, during which she explained the rationale behind selecting the FinTech and Digital Marketing programs, citing their scarcity and growing demand in the Egyptian market. She presented data on the annual growth rates in demand for these disciplines and encouraged students to make the most of the academic and professional opportunities available to them.

During the session, Dr. Noha Adel, Director of Business Programs and Coordinator of the FinTech Program, along with Dr. Mayada Mostafa, Coordinator of the Digital Marketing Program, outlined the key features, objectives, and prospects of both programs, highlighting their relevance to the modern job market.

The session concluded with an open Q&A segment, allowing students to engage directly with faculty and receive answers to their queries, demonstrating the university's commitment to supporting its students from the outset of their academic journey.
