The Faculty Members Club at Ain Shams University Celebrates Prof. Hussein Eissa on His Appointment as Deputy Prime Minister for Economic Affairs in the Presence of University Leaders and Public Figures

Amid a wonderful Ramadan atmosphere, and in the presence of a distinguished gathering of current and former leaders of Ain Shams University, headed by Prof. Mohamed Diaa Zain El Abedeen, President of the University, the Faculty Staff Club of Ain Shams University, chaired by Prof. Fayed Ghaleb, organized its annual Iftar banquet in honor of and with the presence of Prof. Hussein Eissa, former President of the University, celebrating the political leadership’s confidence in him and his appointment as Deputy Prime Minister for Economic Affairs.

At the beginning of the ceremony, Prof. Hussein Eissa expressed his great happiness at being honored by the Faculty Members Club, stating: “For years, I have been keen to attend the Club’s social events and annual Ramadan Iftar gatherings. I appreciate the efforts of those managing the Club in serving their colleagues. I am truly overwhelmed with joy and heartfelt emotions to be among my fellow professors and leaders of Ain Shams University.”

Prof. Eissa attributed the success of his tenure as President of Ain Shams University, during one of the most challenging periods Egypt experienced between 2011 and 2015, to the harmony and mutual respect that united him with his three Vice Presidents at the time: Prof. Mohamed El Toukhy, Prof. Ali Abdel Aziz, and Prof. Abdel Wahab Ezzat.

For his part, Prof. Mohamed Diaa Zain El Abedeen, President of Ain Shams University, stated that the University takes pride in Prof. Hussein Eissa, one of its former presidents, on the occasion of his appointment as Deputy Prime Minister for Economic Affairs. He affirmed that Prof. Eissa is fully deserving of this position and capable of accomplishing the tasks entrusted to him with excellence. He also praised the unwavering support Prof. Eissa has provided to the University since leaving the presidency ten years ago, noting that he has never withheld his expertise and advice from its leadership and members.

   
   

Prof. Fayed Ghaleb, Chairman of the Faculty Members Club, welcomed the distinguished guests of the annual Iftar, foremost among them Prof. Hussein Eissa, Prof. Mohamed Diaa Zain El Abedeen, the University’s Vice Presidents, Deans of Faculties, former university presidents and leaders, and faculty members from various colleges. He described Prof. Hussein Eissa as a successful and humble leader who works diligently and quietly, always offering support whenever needed. This was echoed by Prof. Hanan Hafez, the Club’s Treasurer, who expressed her immense happiness at Prof. Eissa’s appointment to this important position and her full confidence in his success. Concluding her speech, she recited verses of poetry in honor and support. Prof. Ahmed Galal, Dean of the Agricultural Cooperation Institute, also delivered a poem dedicated to Prof. Hussein Eissa and delighted the audience by performing a song by Abdel Halim Hafez, earning warm applause from attendees.

The Iftar and honoring ceremony was attended by Prof. Mohamed Awad Tag El Din, Advisor to the President of the Republic for Health and Prevention Affairs and Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Ain Shams National University; Prof. Mostafa Refaat, Secretary of the Supreme Council of Universities; Prof. Ghada Farouk, Vice President for Community Service and Environmental Development; Prof. Amani Osama, Vice President for Graduate Studies and Research; Prof. Rami Ghali, Vice President for Education and Student Affairs; Prof. Tarek Youssef, Executive Director of University Hospitals; Prof. Amr El Etriby, Vice President of Badr University; and Prof. Nagwa Badr, President of University of East London – Cairo Branch.

The event was also attended by the Deans of the Faculties of Engineering, Business, Girls, Education, Computer and Information Sciences, Agriculture, the Higher Institute of Agricultural Cooperation, and the Desert Research Institute, in addition to former Presidents of Ain Shams University, Prof. Saleh Hashem and Prof. Abdel Wahab Ezzat.

Members of the Faculty Staff Club Board of Directors were also present, including Prof. Alaa Hamid, Vice Chairman of the Club; Prof. Amr Abdel Aziz, Secretary General; Prof. Hany Mahdy; Prof. El Sayed El Harbity; and Prof. Marwa Ali, alongside a number of professors from the Faculty of Medicine and university administrative leaders.
