The President of Ain Shams University and Vice President for Education and Student Affairs Attend the Launch of the Ramadan Tournament Organized by “Students for Egypt” Family with Wide Student Participation

Prof. Mohamed Diaa Zain El-Abedeen, President of Ain Shams University, and Prof. Rami Maher Ghali, Vice President for Education and Student Affairs, witnessed the launch of the Ramadan tournament featuring five-a-side football competitions under the title “Students for Egypt Champions League,” in addition to table tennis and PlayStation contests. The tournament is organized by the “Students for Egypt” family at the University in cooperation with the General Administration of Youth Welfare – Department of Student Families and Unions.

Administrative coordination and supervision were carried out by Mr. Ibrahim Saeed Hamza, Assistant Secretary-General for the Education and Student Affairs Sector, in the presence of Dr. Samar Ragab, Advisor to the “Students for Egypt” family, faculty advisors, and Ms. Asmaa Khater, Director General of the General Administration of Youth Welfare.

In his opening remarks, Prof. Mohamed Diaa Zain El-Abedeen emphasized that organizing the tournament during the holy month of Ramadan reflects the University’s commitment to investing in the spiritual atmosphere of the month to promote sportsmanship, camaraderie, and fair competition among students. He noted that student activities continue throughout the year as a fundamental pillar in building a well-rounded student personality and fostering a sense of belonging and teamwork within the campus community, praising the role of the Education and Student Affairs Sector in supporting these efforts.

For his part, Prof. Rami Maher Ghali reaffirmed the Sector’s commitment to supporting diverse student activities, cultural, and artistic essential to refining students’ skills and discovering their talents. He encouraged participants to uphold the values of fair play, discipline, mutual respect, and collaborative spirit.

He also extended his appreciation to the Education and Student Affairs Sector and all organizers who contributed to delivering the tournament in such an honorable manner, wishing all participating teams’ success. He stressed that the Sector will continue to support initiatives that enhance students’ capabilities and provide platforms for creativity and excellence, recognizing them as the nation’s future and a driving force for positive change.

At the conclusion of his speech, the Vice President invited students to attend the “Students for Egypt” family iftar scheduled for March 12, which will feature a variety of activities under the supervision of the Education and Student Affairs Sector.

The President and Vice President then kicked off the opening match, officially marking the start of the competitions amid an atmosphere of enthusiasm and spirited support among the participating teams.

This year’s Ramadan tournament has witnessed remarkable participation, reflecting strong student engagement and enthusiasm, with 256 teams competing in five-a-side football, 32 players in table tennis, and 64 participants in the PlayStation competition—demonstrating students’ confidence in and commitment to the activities organized by the “Students for Egypt” family.
