As part of supporting the presidential initiative to empower people of determination and in line with Egypt Vision 2030 goals of human development and building an inclusive society, students with disabilities illuminated the Excellence Theatre at the Faculty of Business, Ain Shams University, during the closing ceremony of the Holy Qur’an Competition, delivering a powerful message that determination can make the impossible achievable.
Held under the patronage of Prof. Mohamed Diaa Zain El-Abedeen, President of Ain Shams University, and attended and sponsored by Prof. Farid Moharram El-Garhy, Dean of the Faculty, the Faculty of Business concluded the activities of the Holy Qur’an Competition (memorization, recitation, and Tajweed) on Sunday, December 14, 2025. The competition was organized within the framework of the pioneering “Business Talent” initiative, launched by the Dean to provide an accredited platform for discovering and nurturing students’ talents across various fields within a supportive and competitive environment.
The competition witnessed outstanding participation, with 42 male and female students from different academic programs taking part, including 30 students with disabilities, reflecting the faculty’s strong commitment to inclusion policies and to fostering a supportive and inclusive university environment for all.
The judging panel was supervised by Sheikh Alaa El-Din Mohamed Salama, Director General of Qur’anic Affairs at the Ministry of Awqaf, in the presence of Prof. Mohamed Morsi, Vice Dean for Community Service and Environmental Development, and Dr. Hanan Hussein, Director of the Psychological Support Unit at the Faculty, lending the competition a high level of professionalism and objectivity.
In his address, Prof. Farid Moharram El-Garhy emphasized that the competition represents a cornerstone in shaping a well-rounded university student, spiritually, ethically, and academically. He praised the distinguished level of all participants, describing the perseverance and performance of students with disabilities as “a positive message and an honorable model of determination and resilience that embodies the culture of inclusion we proudly uphold.” He also expressed his satisfaction with the strong turnout, which reflected a positive spiritual atmosphere on campus, stressing that such events support youth empowerment and align with the national strategy for building the Egyptian citizen.
Participants with disabilities and their families expressed their deep appreciation for the opportunity, highlighting their sense of belonging to the university community and noting that the competition significantly boosted self-confidence and encouraged constructive use of time.
The ceremony, which drew strong engagement from attendees, featured moving Qur’anic recitations delivered with remarkable mastery of Tajweed.
At the conclusion of the event, the Faculty administration extended its appreciation to all participating students for their outstanding performances and commended the prominent organizational role of the Faculty’s Student Union, represented by Hidaya Omar, Vice President of the Union, and Rashad Essam, President of the Union, as well as the efforts of the Youth Welfare Department led by Mr. Hany El-Ghoul.
This initiative reflects the strategic vision of both the Faculty and the University to launch innovative programs that empower all students without exception and reinforce the university’s role as a hub for talent development, in full alignment with the national strategy for youth empowerment and Egypt Vision 2030.
It is worth noting that the competition featured strong rivalry across multiple levels of memorization and recitation. The winners will be announced and all participants honored at a later ceremony, with special recognition granted to students with disabilities in appreciation of their inspiring efforts and determination.
