Ain Shams University’s Education and Student Affairs Sector Launches the “Empower… Together for an Inclusive Future” Student Initiative

Under the patronage of Prof. Mohamed Ayman Ashour, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, and within the framework of a new vision for Ain Shams University led by Prof. Mohamed Diaa Zain El-Abedeen, University President, the Education and Student Affairs Sector, represented by the Center for Students with Disabilities and the General Administration of Youth Welfare, is organizing the “Empower… Together for an Inclusive Future” initiative.

The initiative aims to promote a culture of inclusion and academic and social integration, highlighting the efforts of support centers in the fields of empowerment, equality, and equal opportunities, while raising awareness about the importance of providing academic and social support for students with disabilities. The program seeks to ensure a fully inclusive educational environment that allows students to maximize their potential and capabilities.

Prof. Mohamed Diaa Zain El-Abedeen emphasized that Ain Shams University has developed a comprehensive implementation plan to support the presidential initiative “Empower” for students with disabilities, in line with the directives of President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, aiming at their full integration and empowerment in society. He added that the university adopts a holistic vision focused on providing an inclusive educational and research environment, offering students with disabilities equal opportunities for learning, innovation, and active participation in university life.

The initiative features active participation from specialized institutions and organizations supporting students with disabilities, including Basira Foundation, Al-Hassan Foundation, and Caritas Egypt. The program includes specialized workshops and interactive activities for students with disabilities and faculty members across the campus.

The initiative will officially launch on Sunday, October 26, 2025, at 1:00 PM, in front of the Zafaran Palace on campus, and will continue over five consecutive days, featuring a variety of training workshops and dialogue sessions.

It is noteworthy that the initiative is fully organized by the Education and Student Affairs Sector at Ain Shams University, through the Center for Students with Disabilities and the General Administration of Youth Welfare, under the coordination and administrative supervision of Mr. Ibrahim Saeed Hamza, Assistant Secretary of the University for the Education and Student Affairs Sector.
