The Faculty of Medicine at Ain Shams National University held an orientation session for its inaugural class of medical students. The event was attended by Prof. Mohamed Diaa Zain El-Abedeen, President of Ain Shams University and Acting President of Ain Shams National University; Prof. Mohamed Salheen, Vice President for Academic Affairs at Ain Shams National University; Prof. Ali El Anwar, Dean of the Faculty of Medicine at Ain Shams University and Chair of the University Hospitals Board; Prof. Tarek Youssef, Executive Director of University Hospitals; the faculty’s vice deans; and several faculty staff participating in the medical program at the National University. The session was also led by Dr. Maha Zakaria, Program Director.

Prof. Ali El Anwar highlighted the unique advantages of the program as part of the distinguished Ain Shams Medical education system. He also praised the carefully selected faculty members drawn from the elite of Ain Shams Medical School and noted the program’s cutting-edge curriculum and modern teaching methods.
The day featured a comprehensive presentation of the academic program by Dr. Maha Zakaria, outlining its objectives, structure, and key features.
Dr. Noha Salem, Deputy Director of Grants and Special Programs at the American University in Cairo, delivered a speech highlighting the collaboration between the two universities. She introduced the pioneering entrepreneurship program in healthcare, integrated as a core component of the medical curriculum, to equip students with leadership and entrepreneurial skills that meet the demands of today’s job market.
The orientation also included detailed briefings on course content, the academic advising system, student activities, psychological support services, and the university’s electronic student information system, presented by Dr. Nabil Hamed, Director of the Engineering Program at Ain Shams National University.
The event concluded with an inspiring speech by Professor Osama El Shazly, Professor of Orthopedic Surgery and esteemed author, who spoke about the doctor’s mission and humanitarian role. He also answered students’ questions about balancing professional life with personal interests.
