Under the patronage of Prof. Mohamed Diaa Zain El-Abedeen, President of Ain Shams University, and Prof. Rami Maher Ghali, Vice President for Education and Student Affairs, and with full institutional support and continuous guidance from Yassin El-Shazly, Dean of the Faculty of Law, and Prof. Mohamed Ibrahim El-Shafie, Vice Dean for Education and Student Affairs, the Faculty team concluded its participation in the University of Oxford Moot Court Competition, held at the University of Oxford in the United Kingdom from April 13 to 18, 2026.
Ain Shams University had previously organized the Middle East regional rounds of the Oxford “Price” Moot Court Competition from February 1 to 4, 2026, in implementation of the cooperation agreement signed in 2022 between Ain Shams University and the Bonavero Institute of Human Rights at the Faculty of Law, University of Oxford. Under this agreement, the Faculty of Law at Ain Shams University became the regional partner of Oxford University in the field of moot court competitions.

In his opening remarks during the regional rounds, Prof. Mohamed Diaa Zain El-Abedeen expressed the University’s pride in its partnership with the University of Oxford, emphasizing the importance of such initiatives in advancing education by linking it to practical application.
For his part, Prof. Yassin El-Shazly highlighted the faculty’s strong commitment to international competitions that provide students with valuable exposure to both academic and practical legal environments worldwide.
The competition witnessed strong participation from approximately 35 teams from across Europe, Asia, and the Americas, with the faculty team delivering an outstanding performance in its rounds against international counterparts. Notably, the team remains the only Middle Eastern team to have consistently qualified for the global competition since its first participation in 2013.

This achievement follows the team’s success in the regional rounds held in Cairo in February, where it secured second place in the Middle East and earned several distinguished awards, including Best Written Submissions in the region. Additionally, one of its members received the Best Speaker Award in the final round, an accomplishment that reflects the excellence of Egyptian law students.
The team comprised a group of distinguished students from the English Section: Shahd Mohamed El Shaer (fourth year), Youssef Khaled Mohamed El Baz (third year), Maya Mostafa El Saadany (second year), Shahd Ashraf Hussein (third year), Malak Mostafa Sami (third year), and Nouran Mohamed Dewidar (fourth year).
The team was coached by Alia Bahaa El-Din Dakroury (fourth year, English Section) and Dima Hatem El-Sayed, Teaching Assistant in the Department of Economics at Ain Shams University. Preparation and training began in September under the supervision of Dr. Ahmed Khalifa, Director of the International Cooperation Office at the Faculty of Law
