The Third Scientific Nursing Conference Discusses the Future of Research and Innovation for Sustainable Global Health

As part of Ain Shams University’s commitment to supporting scientific research and advancing healthcare practices in line with the latest global trends, the Third Scientific Nursing Conference was launched under the title “The Future of Nursing Research and Innovation for Sustainable Global Health.” The conference was held under the patronage of Prof. Ali El-Anwar, Dean of the Faculty of Medicine and Chairman of the Board of Ain Shams University Hospitals, and was attended by Prof. Tarek Youssef Ahmed, Executive Director of Ain Shams University Hospitals, and Dr. Manal Abdel Salam Amin, Director of the Central Administration of Nursing.

The conference reaffirmed the vital role of nursing in developing the healthcare system, promoting sustainability concepts within medical institutions, and linking scientific research with practical application, thereby contributing to the improvement of healthcare service quality and the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals, particularly those related to good health and quality education.

The conference activities focused on integrating sustainability concepts and green nursing into academic curricula and clinical practices, in addition to fostering innovation in nursing research and employing modern technologies such as artificial intelligence and digitalization. The event also aimed to enhance knowledge exchange between researchers and practitioners to achieve more efficient and safer healthcare delivery, while presenting practical recommendations for implementing green nursing principles within hospitals.

The conference addressed several specialized scientific themes, including green nursing and sustainability through the adoption of environmentally friendly practices in healthcare and the integration of green curricula. The technology and innovation track explored applications of artificial intelligence, e-learning, medical simulation, and evidence-based nursing to reduce medical errors.

It also highlighted crisis and pandemic care, focusing on resource management and disaster response, as well as the importance of supporting the psychological and social well-being of practitioners through mental health support and reducing professional burnout. Furthermore, the conference emphasized the significance of multidisciplinary research and strengthening collaboration across various nursing specialties.

In his speech, Prof. Tarek Youssef Ahmed expressed his pleasure in participating in the conference, stressing the importance of increasing the involvement of newly appointed nurses in such scientific events to benefit from their themes. He underscored the need to intensify training programs to enhance practical competencies, as well as to develop communication skills and professional conduct within the workplace, while fully adhering to nursing ethics as a fundamental pillar of delivering distinguished healthcare services.

Dr. Manal Abdel Salam welcomed the attendees and extended her gratitude to the university’s senior leadership for their continuous support of nursing staff and their commitment to involving them in scientific activities. She expressed her pride in belonging to Ain Shams University as a leading institution in scientific research. She also noted that the university hospitals host distinguished scientific competencies in nursing sciences and called for the development of evidence-based nursing practices through research to enhance patient safety and healthcare quality.
