For the fourth consecutive year, and in a Ramadan atmosphere filled with warmth and a strong sense of belonging, the Ain Shams University Alumni Association organized its distinguished annual Suhoor event, “Khan Al-Zaafaran,” at the main campus courtyard of the university. The event has become a cherished annual tradition that brings together the university’s alumni and community, under the patronage of Prof. Mohamed Diaa Zain El-Abedeen, President of Ain Shams University.
The celebration was attended by Prof. Rami Maher Ghali, Vice President for Education and Student Affairs, who was keen to join the university’s alumni and community during the evening, reflecting the deep and lasting relationship between the university and its graduates and reaffirming the continued connection between them and their academic institution.
The event was organized under the supervision of Prof. Reem El-Kabariti, Director of the Alumni Relations Office at Ain Shams University, who ensured that the event was presented in a distinguished manner reflecting the university’s prestigious status and long-standing history. The evening featured several artistic performances inspired by the Egyptian Ramadan spirit, beginning with traditional tanoura and mizmar performances, and concluding with a special musical segment by Al-Haremlek Band, led by Dr. Marwa Abdel Moneim, who presented a selection of songs that were warmly received by the audience. Attendees expressed their great appreciation for the organization of the event and called on the Alumni Association to continue hosting such distinctive activities throughout the year to further strengthen the bonds between the university and its alumni.
The Suhoor gathering was attended by Prof. Khaled Hamdy Abdel Rahman, President of Al-Ahram Canadian University; Prof. Abdel Fattah Saud, former Vice President of Ain Shams University for Education and Student Affairs; Prof. Heba Shaheen, Dean of the Faculty of Mass Communication; Prof. Yassin El-Shazly, Dean of the Faculty of Law; Prof. Rasha Ismail, Dean of the Faculty of Computers and Information; Prof. Nasser Abdel Aal, Director of the Confucius Institute at Ain Shams University; and Mr. Ibrahim Saeed Hamza, Assistant Secretary-General of the University for the Education and Student Affairs Sector, in addition to a number of general directors.
The event also brought together a distinguished group of Ain Shams University alumni from various generations, reflecting the presence of the university’s graduates in prominent economic, legal, and medical institutions, which highlights the university’s pioneering role in Egypt’s modern development and its contribution to the vision of the New Republic.
The gathering around the Suhoor table created a meaningful opportunity for interaction between alumni, university leadership, faculty members, and professors from various faculties, reinforcing the sustainability of the relationship between graduates and their alma mater. The evening was marked by an atmosphere of warmth and engagement, strengthening the values of belonging and renewing the bonds among different generations of the university.
