The Innovation and Entrepreneurship Support Unit at the Faculty of Al-Alsun, Ain Shams University, organized an introductory seminar titled “From Idea to Market: How to Start Your Entrepreneurial Journey?”, under the patronage of Prof. Mohamed Diaa Zain El-Abedeen, President of Ain Shams University; Prof. Amany Osama Kamel, Vice President for Postgraduate Studies and Research; and Prof. Youmna Safwat, Vice Dean for Community Service and Environmental Development and Acting Dean of the Faculty. The event was held under the supervision of Prof. Hala Sayed Metwally, Vice Dean for Education and Student Affairs, as part of the faculty’s ongoing efforts to support the innovation and entrepreneurship ecosystem and develop students’ creative thinking and entrepreneurial project-building skills.
The seminar witnessed a remarkable turnout from students across various departments, along with faculty members, teaching assistants, and departmental coordinators within the Innovation Unit, reflecting the students’ growing interest in enhancing their entrepreneurial skills and their readiness to engage in the faculty and university’s development-oriented programs.

Prof. Hala Metwally, Vice Dean for Education and Student Affairs, opened the seminar with a speech affirming the faculty’s commitment to providing an educational environment that encourages creativity and innovation, and empowers students to transform their ideas into viable projects.
She noted that entrepreneurship has become one of the essential pillars for university students amid rapid global transformations, highlighting the faculty’s special interest in organizing activities that enhance students’ skills in this field.
Dr. Mohamed Magdy, Director of the Innovation Hub (iHub) at Ain Shams University, delivered a presentation on the university’s innovation and entrepreneurship ecosystem. He highlighted the initiatives and programs offered by the center to support students throughout the various stages of building entrepreneurial projects—from idea formulation and technical training to prototype development and market launch. He also praised the fruitful collaboration between the Faculty and the iHub in implementing student-focused activities.

Dr. Islam Adly, Director of Student Activities at iHub, discussed the role of interactive activities and practical training programs in shaping an entrepreneurial mindset among university students, emphasizing that real-world exposure to the labor market is a key element in the success of young entrepreneurs. He explained that the programs offered by the center help students understand the real challenges entrepreneurs face and how to address them.
Dr. Heidy Khaled, Acting Director of the Innovation and Entrepreneurship Support Unit at the Faculty of Al-Alsun, presented a detailed overview of the unit’s strategy and its key activities, which include specialized workshops, training programs, entrepreneurial initiatives, and competitions that allow students to practically implement their ideas. She also highlighted the unit’s vital role in linking Al-Alsun students with the university’s iHub, providing them with broader opportunities for continuous development and support for future projects.
The seminar offered a comprehensive explanation of the journey from innovative idea to startup, covering creative thinking techniques, steps for developing a prototype, market study methodologies, target audience analysis, and business model design.
Speakers also shared real examples from iHub programs at the university, through which many students gained practical tools for building successful entrepreneurial projects.
The event featured presentations of successful student experiences from the Faculty of Al-Alsun, showcasing projects developed through the faculty and iHub programs that enabled students to turn their ideas into workable prototypes.
The seminar concluded with honoring several members of the Al-Alsun iClub team in appreciation of their efforts in organizing the event and supporting entrepreneurial activities within the faculty.
