Under the auspices of Prof. Mohamed Diaa Zain El Abedeen, President of Ain Shams University, Prof. Amira Youssef, Dean of the Faculty of Girls, received a high-level delegation from the University of Fukui, Japan. The delegation was attended by Prof. Shunchi Yanagisawa, Vice Dean of the Graduate School for Professional Development of Teachers, and a number of members of the accompanying delegation, including Prof. Akira Mitamur, Prof. Mai Kishino, Dr. Mitsuo Yamaura, and Dr. Yasmine Sami.
The visit comes within the framework of the presidential initiative for the Egyptian-Japanese partnership in education, and in preparation for the launch of the professional diploma program in education, specializing in comprehensive learning activities – Tokkatsu, at the Faculty of Girls, Ain Shams University, in partnership with the Japanese University of Fukui.

During the meeting, Prof. Amira Youssef emphasized the importance of developing educational and cultural teacher preparation programs at faculties of education to keep pace with the implementation of the new education system and meet the needs of the educational labor market for distinguished teachers capable of preparing generations to serve the nation. Her Excellency emphasized the need for an educational environment that encourages continuous learning and professional development for teachers.
She explained the importance of preparing specialists in the field of comprehensive education to focus on building a child’s integrated personality and developing their life skills.
She also emphasized the importance of exchanging expertise and strengthening cooperation between the two universities to achieve partnership in implementing the program.
The delegation toured the faculty, visiting the laboratories, lecture halls, and the Curriculum and Teaching Methods Department.

Professor Shunchi Yanagisawa presented a seminar titled “Japanese Tokkatsu Activities and Their Role in Quality of Life and Community Service,” moderated by Prof. Faiza El-Husseini. The seminar covered an introduction to Japanese Tokkatsu activities, the history of Tokkatsu activities in Japan, the principles of Tokkatsu activities, similarities between Egypt and Japan in the application of Tokkatsu activities, community-building projects, and the role of Tokkatsu activities in serving communities, solving their problems, and achieving quality of life, with practical examples. The seminar was attended by a group of faculty staff and teaching assistants from the faculty.
The visit concluded with a meeting between members of the Japanese delegation and faculty staff traveling to Fukui University.
