The Faculty of Archeology holds its Fifth Faculty Board

The Board of the Faculty of Archeology, Ain Shams University, held its fifth monthly meeting on Monday 10/1/2022 in the hall of Prof. Dr. Alaa Fayez Palace of saffron under the auspices of Prof. Dr. Mahmoud El-Metini, President of the University, headed by Prof. Dr. Mamdouh Al-Damaty, Dean of the Faculty, in the presence of Prof. Dr. Hossam Tantawi, Vice Dean for Education and Student Affairs, and Prof. Dr. Ahmed Al-Shoki, Vice Dean for Graduate Studies and Research Affairs, and members of the Council from within.

It was initiated by Dr. Mamdouh Al-Damaty who begane the meeting by congratulatung the attendees on the occasion of the new Gregorian year, wishing everyone an academic year saturated with achievements, then moved to discuss the topics of the meeting related to education and students, which included the mechanism for implementing the decision of the Supreme Council of Universities regarding the admission of international students during the second semester in credit-hour programs, the distribution of the lessons of the second semester courses at the faculty, the standards and specifications of the examination paper for the end of the first semester exams for the academic year 2021-2022 AD, and the presentation and approval of the final report of the unit of measurement and evaluation for the mid-term exams of the first semester of the academic year 2021-2022.

With regard to the postgraduate studies sector and research in the college, the council discussed various topics, including the approval of master’s theses records for researchers from abroad, and the approval of the decisions of the Higher Committee for the management of graduate studies programs. The council also discussed issues of cultural relations, including the approval to bring in a visiting professor from Brigham Young University in the states. United States of America to the Department of Greek and Roman Antiquities at his personal expense, and approval of a "reception letter" from the Department of Ancient Egyptian Antiquities to a professor at the University of Baghdad.

Turning to the topics of the Community Service and Environmental Development Affairs sector, the axes of the sector’s strategic plan were approved, as well as a discussion of a proposal to transform the college into an environmentally friendly college, and another for organizing the activities of the Children’s University Program. Awareness among children and spreading the culture of belonging and knowledge of the Egyptian civilization.

At the end of the meeting, the board reviewed the report of the quality unit, which included among its topics the briefing of the student meeting on “examination instructions and how to prepare for them”, the adoption of the internal regulations of the quality assurance unit, the credibility and ethics guide, the approval of the course file form, and the adoption of a plan to discover and support outstanding and defaulting students.
