Amid an enthusiastic student atmosphere, Ain Shams University launched its New Academic Year Welcome Celebration under the slogan “From Here We Began… Towards the Future We Move.” Prof. Mohamed Diaa Zain El-Abedeen, President of Ain Shams University, attended the flag salute and national anthem ceremony at the main campus, in the presence of Prof. Rami Maher Ghali, Vice President for Education and Student Affairs; Prof. Amany Osama Kamel, Vice President for Postgraduate Studies and Research; and a number of cultural attachés from several Arab countries. Tahya Misr Fund was represented by Mr. Hesham Khalifa, Director of Projects at the Fund. Also attending were Brigadier General Tamer Hamdy and Colonel Hany Fakhry, representing the Armed Forces Hotels and Clubs Department, one of the supporting entities that provides the University with logistical services through the distinguished camps held at the Armed Forces’ Jewel Hotels, which hosted Summer Camp activities during the summer vacation.

The celebration was also attended by the Deans of the Faculties of Engineering, Computer and Information Sciences, Nursing, Mass Communication, Arts, Pharmacy, Agriculture, Environmental Studies and Research, Graduate Studies for Childhood, Specific Education, Al-Alsun, and Women; Vice Deans; Major General Ahmed Lasheen, Secretary-General of the University; Mr. Mohamed El-Gamal, Head of the Central Administration of the University President’s Sector; Assistant Secretaries-General; Dr. Samar Ragab, General Coordinator of the Students for Egypt Family; and directors of the University’s centers, amid a festive atmosphere.

The celebration was organized by the Education and Student Affairs Sector in cooperation with the Students for Egypt Family, the University Student Union, and all activity committees of the General Administration of Youth Welfare, under the patronage of Prof. Mohamed Diaa Zain El-Abedeen, President of Ain Shams University, and Prof. Rami Maher Ghali, Vice President for Education and Student Affairs, with general supervision and administrative coordination by Mr. Ibrahim Saeed Hamza, Assistant Secretary-General for the Education and Student Affairs Sector.

The celebration featured a variety of artistic performances, exhibitions, and interactive activities aimed at introducing new students to the activities and services provided by the University and encouraging them to actively participate in university life.

Students Are at the Core of the University’s Strategy

In his address, Prof. Mohamed Diaa Zain El-Abidin congratulated students, faculty members, and administrative staff on the beginning of the academic year, wishing them a year filled with achievements. He affirmed that Ain Shams University is beginning the new academic year with a vision focused on continuing to develop the educational process and enhance the quality of services provided to students. He stressed that students are at the core of the University’s strategy and that its role extends beyond academic education to developing well-rounded individuals capable of innovation, competition, and serving society.

The University President stated that the beginning of the academic year represents a new opportunity for work and achievement. He encouraged students to make full use of the opportunities and resources provided by the University and to actively participate in student, cultural, sports, and artistic activities, emphasizing that a true university experience combines academic excellence with skills and personal development.

He added that Ain Shams University continues its efforts to develop its facilities and services and provide an educational environment that keeps pace with rapid developments in education, scientific research, and digital transformation, enhancing students’ ability to meet the demands of the labor market and the future.

An Integrated Plan for the New Academic Year

For his part, Prof. Rami Maher Ghali stated that the Education and Student Affairs Sector has developed an integrated plan for the new academic year to provide an outstanding educational environment that combines education and activities to develop well-rounded individuals.

He noted that a comprehensive activities plan has been prepared, including expanded cultural, artistic, sports, social, and scientific programs, as well as programs aimed at developing students’ skills, talents, and capabilities, enhancing their participation in university life, strengthening their national awareness, and building well-rounded personalities capable of positive engagement and community service.

As part of the University’s commitment to accessibility and equal opportunities, the needs of students with disabilities have been taken into consideration, with efforts made to provide an accessible university environment that facilitates access to facilities and educational and student services.

Prof. Rami Maher Ghali emphasized that these preparations aim to provide an integrated university experience that places students at the heart of the educational process and combines quality education, technological development, practical training, and activities. This contributes to preparing graduates equipped with the knowledge and skills required for the future. He also affirmed that his office is open to all students and welcomes all suggestions.

Welcome Activities Reflecting the University Spirit

The celebration featured a range of welcome activities reflecting the University’s vibrant atmosphere at the beginning of the academic year, while introducing students to the services and activities available to them, helping new students integrate into university life and become familiar with the various sectors, faculties, and opportunities available.

The University President and Vice Presidents toured several accompanying activities, including the Students for Egypt Honor Corridor and the Students for Egypt Family pavilion, which showcased the achievements of the Egyptian State and featured activities introducing students to the Family and its role in university life. The pavilion also highlighted its key activities and initiatives across the University and its faculties, marking the tenth anniversary of the Family’s establishment and encouraging students to join and participate in its various activities. They also attended a special artistic performance presented by the Family.

During the tour, the University President and Vice Presidents visited the activity committee pavilions of the Student Union and the General Administration of Youth Welfare. The Scientific Committee showcased examples of student innovations and inventions, reflecting the University’s support for student talent and its encouragement of innovation and creativity.

The Scouts pavilion featured a range of artistic and scouting workshops, along with recreational activities and competitions.

The Cultural and Media Committee pavilion included a book fair offering students a diverse selection of publications across various cultural fields.

The Social, Artistic, and Sports Committees showcased some of their activities, achievements, and student programs to introduce students to available participation opportunities and encourage them to engage in university activities, contributing to their personal and skills development.

The Social Solidarity Fund also presented an overview of the services and support it provides to students, explaining the procedures and requirements for benefiting from its services.

The University President and Vice Presidents also visited the Students with Disabilities Service Center pavilion, which showcased the services and facilities available to students and explained how to access them, supporting their effective integration into university life and participation in various activities and events.

The tour also included the pavilion of the Fund for Drug Control and Treatment of Addiction, as well as the General Administration of University Dormitories pavilion, where students were introduced to the services available and how to benefit from them.

The festival also featured a pavilion for the International Students Administration within the International Cooperation Sector, introducing international students to the services provided by the University and supporting their integration into the university community.

The University President and Vice Presidents also visited the Alumni Association pavilion, which showcased its activities, services for graduates, and membership procedures.

The tour further included the area dedicated to service entities and institutions, including the Tahya Misr Fund, which presented several of its social initiatives and projects, as well as the Social Solidarity Unit, which introduced students to the services and support it provides.

An Artistic Celebration Featuring Diverse Student Performances

The event featured an artistic celebration with a variety of student performances, including the operetta “The Story of Ain Shams University,” presented by Students for Egypt Family members; musical performances by the Students for Egypt Choir; the “Sweet Beginnings” performance; and “Ain Shams Is History,” presented by the University’s Performing Arts Team. The artistic program concluded with a musical performance by Ain Shams University’s Harmony Araby Choir, amid a festive atmosphere showcasing students’ talents and the diversity of artistic activities at the University.

The welcome activities concluded in a joyful atmosphere, reflecting the University’s commitment to integrating academic study with practical experiences and cultural and artistic activities, as part of its ongoing efforts to graduate students who are academically and socially qualified and capable of contributing effectively to serving the nation.
