These sessions were held considering directives from Abdel Fattah el-Sisi, President of the Republic, emphasizing the need to take effective measures to protect children from risks associated with the unregulated use of social media platforms. Discussions reflected consensus between the government and parliament on preparing a balanced legislative framework that considers social, educational, and technological dimensions.
The hearings addressed several key aspects, including setting regulatory guidelines for children’s use of such applications, strengthening the role of families and educational institutions in awareness-building, and establishing effective monitoring mechanisms to ensure a safe digital environment for young users.
It is worth noting that the Faculty of Law is home to a distinguished group of scholars who have played prominent roles in parliamentary life. Among them are Prof. Kamel Leila, Professor of Public Law and former President of Ain Shams University, and Prof. Ali Abdel Aal, Professor of Public Law and former Speaker of the House of Representatives. Their contributions reflect the faculty’s esteemed academic and national standing and its impactful role in legislative affairs.
These engagements underscore the leading role played by the Faculty of Law in supporting state efforts to develop the legislative system and actively contribute to drafting laws addressing key societal issues.
