As part of efforts to strengthen digital transformation in the education sector, Ain Shams University signed a cooperation protocol with Telecom Egypt at the historic Zafaran Palace to implement and operate the AI-powered smart learning platform (LearningBuddy – EduSofx). In its first phase, the platform aims to serve approximately 10,000 students and faculty members at the University during the current academic year.

The protocol was signed by Prof. Mohamed Diaa Zain El Abdeen, President of Ain Shams University, and Eng. Tamer El Mahdy, Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Telecom Egypt, in cooperation with EduSofx, the system developer, to implement and operate the Learning Buddy system at Ain Shams University as a one-year academic pilot.

The project aims to support the educational process and digital transformation, enhance the teaching experience and learning outcomes, and improve the quality and efficiency of educational outputs. This will be achieved by providing participating students and professors with a wide range of smart tools, helping bridge learning gaps, and supporting academic achievement. The platform is also designed to enhance student engagement and increase faculty productivity by analyzing and evaluating student interactions, monitoring their performance, identifying areas for improvement, and ensuring operational quality through specialized technical and operational teams.

The project is based on providing comprehensive technical and operational support to ensure efficient use. Its first phase will target a number of selected faculties and academic courses. The initiative is expected to contribute to improving the efficiency of educational outcomes, enhancing academic engagement, and providing a model for leveraging artificial intelligence in Egyptian educational institutions.

The signing ceremony was attended on behalf of Ain Shams University by Prof. Farid Moharam, Dean of the Faculty of Business, and Prof. Amr Shaat, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering.

Representatives of Telecom Egypt included Dr. Wael Shashtawy, Board Member and Chief Executive Officer of Telecom Egypt; Eng. Ahmed El-Fouly, Executive Vice President for Information Systems and Technology at Telecom Egypt; and Mr. Rami Kato, Executive Vice President for Enterprise and Corporate Commercial Affairs at Telecom Egypt.

Representatives of EduSofx included Eng. Hatem Salam, Chief Executive Officer of EduSofx; Eng. Islam Shaalan, Head of Products at EduSofx; and Eng. Ahmed Talba, Head of Operations at EduSofx. The ceremony was also attended by Eng. Amr El-Masry from Microsoft, Eng. Ezzat Donia, General Manager of the Support Services Sector at MIDAR, and Mr. Magdy Michel from Data Center.
