Under the patronage of Prof. Mohamed Diaa Zain El Abedeen, President of Ain Shams University, and Prof. Amany Osama Kamel, Vice President of the University for Graduate Studies and Research, the Faculty of Specific Education and the Faculty of Archaeology at Ain Shams University are organizing a joint international scientific conference entitled "Colors and Music: A Visual and Auditory Language Between Heritage and Sustainability." The conference will be held on December 8th and 9th, 2026, at the Talaat Harb Theater in the Faculty of Specific Education.

The conference is chaired by Prof. Dalia Hussein Fahmy, Acting Dean of the Faculty of Specific Education and Vice Dean for Graduate Studies and Research, and Prof. Hossam Tantawy, Acting Dean of the Faculty of Archaeology. The conference rapporteurs are Prof. Dalia Hussein Fahmy and Prof. Ahmed El-Shouky, Vice Dean of the Faculty of Archaeology for Graduate Studies and Research.

This is the eighth conference of its kind for the Faculty of Specific Education and the sixth for the Faculty of Archaeology. It aims to foster scientific collaboration between different disciplines and highlight the role of color and music as visual and auditory languages ​​that contribute to preserving heritage and supporting sustainability principles.

The conference includes five main themes: Colors and Music in Daily Life and Social Identity; Colors in Art and Architecture; Colors, Restoration, and Sustainable Preservation; Modern Technology, Excavations, and Scientific Analysis; and Colors in Museums, Galleries, and Public Engagement.

On the sidelines of the conference, ten research grants will be offered to employees of the Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities, employees of the Ministry of Culture, postgraduate students, and teaching assistants. These grants aim to support scientific research and encourage researchers to conduct studies that contribute to heritage preservation and promote sustainability.
