On Monday, December 25, Ain Shams University Board, in its session, chaired by Prof. Mohamed Diaa Zein El Abedeen, President of the University, honored Prof. Ahmed Galal, Acting Dean of the Faculty of Agriculture, in appreciation of his distinguished efforts during his tenure as Dean of the Faculty of Agriculture for two consecutive terms from 2017 to November 2023, and in appreciation of his pioneering contributions in the field of agricultural sciences and his numerous academic, administrative and supervisory efforts that His Excellency undertook during his university career, in which he performed his duty perfectly, in the presence of Prof. Mohamed Awad Tag El-Din, Advisor to the President of the Republic for Health and Prevention Affairs and Member of the University Council, Prof. Ahmed Zaki Badr, former Minister of Local Development and member of the University Council, Prof. Ghada Farouk, Vice President of the University for Community Service and Environmental Development Affairs, and distinguished members of the Board.

Prof. Ahmed Galal served as Director of the University’s Open Education Center from 2012 until 2017. He also worked as Deputy Director of the Quality Assurance and Accreditation Center in 2012 for two years. He also served as Vice Dean of the College of Agriculture for Community Service and Environmental Development in 2016, then Dean of the College since 2017 for two terms. Two successive awards in appreciation of his efforts in developing the college.

It should be noted that Prof. Ahmed Galal has received multiple awards in international research and publishing, in addition to his supervision of many master’s and doctoral theses, and his Excellency enriching the scientific library with 15 valuable scientific books. His Excellency also served as a member of scientific committees and evaluation platforms that reflect his dedication to developing the scientific and educational sectors.

Prof. Ahmed Galal has received multiple awards, reflecting his great influence in the scientific community, as he received the State Encouragement Award in Agricultural Sciences in 2007, the Ain Shams Award for Excellent Research in the Field of Agricultural Sciences 2003, the Ain Shams University Award for International Publishing for the years 2013, 2014, 2017, 2019, 2020, 2021, 2022, in addition to the Best Research Award in 2020.
