Ain Shams University wins First Place in Futsal at the First El Alamein University Championship for Egyptian University Students

As part of a clear strategic direction to promote student activity as a key component of building a balanced university personality and creating a stimulating environment for communication and positive competition among students from various universities, the first edition of the El Alamein University Championship concluded. The event was held under the patronage of Dr. Ayman Ashour, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research.

Ain Shams University, headed by Prof. Mohamed Diaa Zain El Abedeen, achieved first place in futsal for male students, second place in the road race and a silver medal for student Marwa Ahmed Mohamed Hamed, third place and a bronze medal for student Israa Abdel Tawab for female students, and fourth place in beach soccer for male students. The tournament was held from August 2 to August 7, 2025 in New Alamein City, and participation took place in futsal (male students) - beach volleyball (male students) - paddle tennis (female students).

In a related context, Prof. Mohamed Diaa Zain El Abedeen, President of Ain Shams University, emphasized that the university places great importance on various student activities, as they are a fundamental pillar in building a well-rounded student personality.

He added that these activities are not limited to entertainment, but are an integral part of the educational process, contributing to honing students' skills, developing their leadership abilities, and fostering a sense of teamwork and belonging.

He emphasized that the achievements of students in these sporting and cultural events are a source of pride for the university and an incentive for further success at all academic and extracurricular levels.

Ain Shams University's participation came under the administrative supervision of Mr. Ibrahim Saeed Hamza, Assistant Secretary of the University for Education and Student Affairs - Sports Activities Department of the General Administration of Youth Welfare Office, and was organized by the Egyptian University in Alexandria, under the supervision of the Student Activities Sector and the Leadership Development Institute, with broad participation from public, private, National, and technological universities.
