Queen Mary University School of Law holds an introductory seminar for faculty students about opportunities and procedures for obtaining scholarships

Under the patronage of Prof. Mohamed Diaa, President of Ain Shams University, Prof. Mohamed Safi, Dean of the Faculty of Law, and within the framework of the cooperation agreement concluded between the faculty and the Faculty of Law at Queen Mary University in Britain, an introductory symposium was held for faculty students about postgraduate programs at Queen Mary University and the grants provided by The prestigious British University for our students within the framework of the partnership between the two universities.

The meeting, which was held on the Zoom application, was attended by more than two hundred students from the college’s final teams, postgraduate students, as well as members of the supporting staff. Professor Claire Burke, Director of the Office of International Cooperation at Queen Mary University, lectured at the symposium, as well as Prof. Samantha Hiffman, admissions officer for the programs. The two lectures reviewed the conditions for admission to study, how to prepare the application file for admission to the university, the facilitating procedures, as well as the reductions in fees assigned to Ain Shams University students, given the partnership between the two universities.

         
   
         

Prof. Burke's intervention also explained that Queen Mary University has allocated a team of its employees to help students applying from Ain Shams University prepare the application file, through a special email, as well as a WhatsApp group for the partnership between the two universities.

It is worth noting that Queen Mary University is one of the best British universities in the rankings, and between seven and eight thousand students apply annually to study in the postgraduate law program, and the acceptance rate does not exceed 15%.

The symposium was concluded by Prof. Yassin El-Shazly, Vice Dean of the Faculty for Postgraduate Studies and Research, who pointed out in his speech the importance of the partnership between the two universities, and the great interest that Ain Shams University attaches to developing this partnership and supporting it in all areas of student exchange, research work, as well as joint teaching, which are all Areas included in the partnership agreement.

The activities of this symposium come in light of the faculties’s keen direction to develop its programs and raise the level of its international partnerships. The symposium was organized and managed by Dr. Ahmed Khalifa, Director of the Faculty’s International Cooperation Office.
