Dr. Abdelaziz Konsowa, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Dr. Ibrahim Saber, Governor of Cairo, and Dr. Mohamed Diaa Zain El-Abedeen, President of Ain Shams University, inaugurated the fifth edition of the university’s largest career fair, “ASU Career Expo 2026,” organized by the university’s Career Center under the theme “Beyond Opportunities.”
The event was attended by Dr. Ghada Farouk, Vice President for Community Service and Environmental Development; Dr. Amany Kamel, Vice President for Graduate Studies and Research; Dr. Rami Maher Ghali, Vice President for Education and Student Affairs; Dr. Mohamed Abdel Karim Saleheen, Vice President of Ain Shams National University for Academic Affairs; Dr. Ayman Farid, Assistant Minister and Head of the Cultural Affairs and Missions Sector; Dr. Ola Sami, Director of the Career Center; along with a distinguished group of deans, vice deans, and representatives of major companies and institutions participating in the event.

In his speech, Dr. Abdelaziz Konsowa expressed his pleasure at participating in the opening, emphasizing that the event reflects one of the key pillars of the state’s strategy, strengthening the linkage between educational outcomes and labor market needs. He highlighted the Ministry’s efforts through a higher committee tasked with reviewing and updating academic programs across Egyptian universities to ensure alignment with rapidly evolving labor market demands locally, regionally, and internationally, thereby enhancing graduates’ readiness and competitiveness.
He further noted that the Ministry is working in parallel to establish a Strategic Planning Center for Employment and Labor Market Studies, which will serve as a national think tank to monitor and analyze labor market trends and support decision-makers with accurate data. This will contribute to developing educational policies aligned with national economic needs and industrial requirements, reinforcing the role of education in building and preparing the Egyptian individual for the future.
The Minister praised the fair as a vital platform that brings together students and graduates with leading companies and institutions, providing real employment and training opportunities. He also commended Ain Shams University for organizing the event and acknowledged the Career Center’s role in preparing students and enhancing their skills.
He stressed the importance of fostering an active academic and research community by encouraging student projects and supporting young researchers to engage in applied scientific research that contributes to solving development challenges and advancing the knowledge economy.
Addressing students and graduates, the Minister affirmed that they are at the core of the Egyptian state’s priorities, noting ongoing efforts to empower them through education, skills development, innovation, and entrepreneurship. He urged them to fully benefit from the event’s activities, engage with participating companies, and gain practical experience to confidently pursue their future careers.

Dr. Konsowa also highlighted that current global challenges require teamwork and integration between educational institutions, the private sector, and industry to prepare graduates capable of competing in a rapidly changing labor market.
For his part, Dr. Ibrahim Saber, Governor of Cairo, emphasized that the event aligns with the state’s commitment to supporting and empowering youth with real job opportunities, in line with the directives of President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi and Egypt Vision 2030 for sustainable development. He described the fair as a successful model of cooperation between the university and Cairo Governorate, reflecting the state’s dedication to providing decent job opportunities and preparing youth for both local and international labor markets.
He added that such initiatives aim to prepare graduates for professional integration into the workforce, noting the governorate’s continuous support for career fairs to ensure tangible outcomes for youth and society. He also stressed that these events provide direct interaction between job seekers and employers, helping bridge the gap between theoretical knowledge and practical skills.
In his remarks, Dr. Mohamed Diaa Zain El-Abedeen highlighted the significance of this year’s edition, which features participation from over 100 companies and institutions offering more than 2,000 job and training opportunities across various sectors. He noted that this reflects the strong confidence in Ain Shams University graduates and their competitiveness in the labor market.
He added that the university hosts more than 200 experts and specialists delivering a wide range of professional activities, including specialized lectures, career guidance sessions, CV reviews, and practical workshops, all aimed at preparing graduates to meet evolving labor market demands.
The university president also noted that this edition stands out due to its full adoption of digital transformation through an advanced online platform developed in collaboration with the Faculty of Computers and Information and the university’s Network Center. The platform enables participants to register, upload CVs, apply for jobs, and book career development sessions in advance, reflecting the university’s commitment to modern technological solutions in employment and innovation.

He further stated that, as part of its societal responsibility, the university expanded participation this year to include not only Ain Shams students and graduates but also graduates from all Egyptian universities and job seekers, reinforcing its national role in supporting youth economic empowerment.
He explained that the event spans two days, with each day dedicated to specific academic disciplines to ensure alignment between graduates’ specializations and company needs, thereby enhancing effective communication and real employment opportunities. He reaffirmed that Ain Shams University’s role extends beyond providing academic knowledge to prepare individuals for the labor market and enabling them to compete locally, regionally, and globally.
At the conclusion of his speech, he expressed sincere appreciation to the Minister of Higher Education for his continuous support, as well as to all partners and participating entities, wishing students and graduates success and a promising professional future.
The event also featured a presentation by Dr. Ola Sami, Director of the Career Center, who reviewed the center’s achievements since its establishment, noting that it has served more than 104,000 students and graduates through training programs, career guidance, and applied activities in collaboration with industry partners. She highlighted that this edition represents a significant shift from a traditional job fair to a comprehensive professional platform integrating training, guidance, and employment.
On the sidelines of the event, Dr. Abdelaziz Konsowa and Dr. Ibrahim Saber were honored and presented with the university shield in recognition of their contributions to advancing higher education and scientific research.
The visit concluded with an inspection tour, during which the Minister, the Governor, the University President, and attendees visited several company booths, explored available job and training opportunities, and engaged in direct discussions with company representatives regarding recruitment mechanisms and labor market requirements.
They also interacted with participating students and graduates, listening to their feedback on the event, and praised the efforts of student volunteers involved in organizing the fair. Students expressed appreciation for the opportunities provided to connect with leading companies, understand labor market requirements, and secure suitable training and employment opportunities.
It is worth noting that this year’s edition aims to host over 100 local and international companies and attract more than 15,000 visitors, alongside organizing career guidance sessions and specialized lectures to help build clear career paths and enhance youth employability.
The first day of the fair targets students from faculties of Engineering, Computers and Information, Medicine, Nursing, Pharmacy, Science, Agriculture, Dentistry, and Girls (Science departments), while the second day is dedicated to students from Business, Alsun (Languages), Arts, Law, Education, Specific Education, Girls (Arts and Education departments), Media, and Archaeology.
