Prof. Mohamed Diaa Zain El Abedeen, President of Ain Shams University, received a high-level delegation from the University of Essex in the UK to discuss ways to enhance joint academic cooperation and follow up on the implementation steps of the strategic partnership between the two institutions.

The meeting was also attended by Prof. Mohamed Salehien, Vice President of Ain Shams University for Academic Affairs, and Prof. Sherweit El Ahmady, Executive Director of the International Relations and Academic Cooperation Sector, along with representatives from the University of Essex.

The meeting addressed mechanisms for cooperation in offering distinguished academic programs at the Faculty of Law, aiming to award joint degrees in accordance with international standards and enhancing the competitiveness of graduates regionally and internationally.

The establishment of a branch of the University of Essex within the campus of Ain Shams National University was also discussed. This branch would serve as a state-of-the-art educational institution combining Egyptian academic tradition with British technical and aesthetic standards, thus contributing to a world-class educational experience within Egypt.

During the meeting, Prof. Mohamed Diaa Zain El Abedeen emphasized that this step stems from Ain Shams University's strategy to develop the higher education system. He pointed out that the university operates according to a national vision aimed at attracting branches of prestigious international universities to Egypt, considering it a distinguished path to providing world-class university education through effective partnerships with leading global academic institutions, thus supporting both the educational and research systems.

In the same context, he added that establishing a branch of the University of Essex within the Ain Shams National University campus will provide students with a unique educational experience, combining international curricula with an academic environment that fosters innovation. This will contribute to preparing qualified graduates capable of competing in the international labor market with internationally recognized degrees.
