the Faculty of Mass Communication at Ain Shams University hosted a seminar entitled "The Future of Journalism in Light of Technological Advancements, the Expanding Use of Artificial Intelligence, and Ethical Challenges." This seminar was held as part of the faculty's commitment to developing students' skills and benefiting from the expertise and experiences of prominent media professionals. The event was held under the supervision of Prof. Heba Shaheen, Dean of the Faculty, and Prof. Salwa Suleiman, Vice Dean for Education and Student Affairs.

Ms. Ola El-Shafei, Chairperson of the Board of Directors of the Youm7 newspaper and website, lectured at the seminar, who recounted her journalistic experience in various press institutions, starting with Al-Ahram since her studies at the Faculty of Mass Communication and the Higher Institute of Cinema, and passing through her work in a number of Arab newspapers in various journalistic files, up to her contribution to the establishment of the Youm7 website, which gave her many experiences and expertise in various fields of media work and contributed to refining her practical experience in preparing artistic programs in television channels and enriched her experience in the drama file at the United Media Services Company.
She emphasized that the current job market needs journalists who are patient, understand the concept of social responsibility, and possess, first and foremost, mastery of journalistic writing and writing, in addition to skills in photography, editing, and visual literacy, to produce high-quality journalistic content capable of competing in the job market.
She also explained that despite the limited job opportunities in the media field at present, the modern news platforms that have recently proliferated have opened doors for many outstanding media graduates.

She also explained that despite the advantages offered by employing artificial intelligence in journalism, the main obstacle to its use is the inability to verify information before publication. This has prompted many international media organizations to develop an ethical code to regulate the use of AI in media work.
She emphasized the need for media organizations to train and qualify journalists to use AI tools to the required standard.
The seminar concluded with advice to the students to hold fast to their ambitions and persevere to secure good opportunities in the media job market.
Finally, Ms. Ola El-Shafei was honored in recognition of her distinguished career in journalism and media.
