The Awards Office at Ain Shams University organized a training session with cultural relations directors and awards coordinators from all faculties of the university. The session aimed to review the latest updates in the university’s awards system and to provide essential technical support, ensuring the university’s continued path toward leadership and excellence.
The event was held under the patronage of Prof. Mohamed Diaa Zain El Abedeen, President of the University, and Prof. Amany Osama Kamel, Vice President for Postgraduate Studies and Research, and was supervised by Mr. Mohamed Fathy El-Khatib, Assistant Secretary of the University for Postgraduate Studies and Research Affairs.
The session took place at the University Network and Information Technology Center on Tuesday, September 23, 2025, and was delivered by Prof. Alaa El-Din Abdel Halim Farag, Supervisor of the University Awards Office. The event also witnessed the presence of Mr. Emad Abdel Tawab, Director of the General Administration of Scientific Research, and Mr. Ahmed Hussein, Director of the General Administration of Cultural Relations, in addition to award coordinators and representatives from various faculties. The session was held in collaboration with the Networks and Information Technology Administration and the University’s E-Portal Team.
The meeting witnessed active engagement from cultural relations officers and awards system coordinators. Discussions addressed various aspects of the university awards and their requirements, including facilitating application and follow-up procedures for faculty members for both university-level awards and state-level awards offered by the Academy of Scientific Research and Technology and the Supreme Council of Universities, as well as local, regional, and international awards.
The session also reviewed the latest updates to the University Awards Guide, aligned with recent developments, with an emphasis on streamlining application procedures and providing standardized forms and resources to ensure easier participation in various awards.
This training aligns with Ain Shams University’s dedication to supporting academic excellence and encouraging faculty participation in diverse award programs, ultimately contributing to performance enhancement, international ranking advancement, and reinforcing the university’s leading status.
The session concluded with several key recommendations, including Maintaining regular follow-up and technical support for faculties, organizing on-site visits to monitor the awards system, holding regular meetings to track developments, preparing periodic performance reports, all of which aim to enhance sustainable competitiveness and secure a distinguished position for the university in the field of academic awards.
