Under the patronage of Prof. Mohamed Diaa Zain El-Abedeen, President of Ain Shams University, the Faculty of Business Council held its regular meeting, chaired by Prof. Farid Moharam, Dean of the Faculty, on Saturday, May 17, 2025, in the Prof. Kamal Abu El Khair Hall at the Faculty.
At the beginning of the session, Prof. Farid Moharam, Dean of the Faculty, welcomed the attendees and wished them all success in serving the nation. The Council congratulated Prof. Mohamed Diaa, President of the University, on the great success of the 13th Ain Shams University Scientific Conference, entitled "75 Years of Excellence and Leadership - An Eye on the Past, a Sun Enlighten the Future."
The Dean of the Faculty asked the esteemed Council members to observe a moment of silence in memory of Prof. Samasem Kamel, Professor in the Department of Accounting and Auditing, and to recite Al-Fatiha for her soul. The Dean of the Faculty thanked Prof. Khaled Kadry, the former Dean, for his efforts during his tenure as Dean of the Faculty. During the meeting, Prof. Farid Moharam, Dean of the Faculty, emphasized the importance of focusing on improving the faculty’s performance and achieving its strategic goals. He also emphasized the importance of adhering to all principles of ensuring quality education and accreditation, ensuring the smooth running of the educational process in accordance with approved plans. He expressed his wishes for prosperity and progress for all sectors of the faculty.

The Council discussed several topics related to the faculty’s academic plans, defining strategic goals, developing educational programs, improving the quality of education at the faculty, resolving administrative problems facing the faculty, improving the work environment, opportunities for international cooperation, cultural and academic exchange, and other topics related to undergraduate and graduate students.
The Council also discussed the proposal submitted by Professor Dr. Farid Moharam to prepare a study plan for the Business Technology program within the English-language credit-hour program.
It also discussed the study plan submitted by Professor Dr. Hussein Issa for the Banking Sciences program, which will be added to the English-language credit-hour program.
The Council approved the proposal submitted to nominate Prof. Atef Al-Awam as a financial advisor to the Dean of the Faculty. The Council formed a governance committee to select the faculty’s administrative leaders. The Council affirmed the rules for secondment of faculty members outside the university and the regulations for practicing the profession.

The Council set the dates for seminars, academic department councils, and committees (Education and Student Affairs, Graduate Studies and Research Affairs, Community Service and Environmental Development Affairs), as well as the Faculty Council meeting.
The Council approved the Social Solidarity Fund Board of Directors for the 2024/2025 academic year.
The Council emphasized the discipline of examination procedures and consideration of the nature of the examination paper for students with disabilities, in coordination with the Center for Students with Disabilities and the Education Development Department (Measurement and Evaluation).
The Council affirmed the recommendations of the University Council at its session held on March 24, 2025, regarding the adoption of procedures for concluding agreements, cooperation protocols, and memoranda of understanding.
The meeting was attended by Prof. Hussein Issa, an experienced member of the Coordination Council for Fiscal and Monetary Policies, a member of the Presidential Advisory Committee for Macroeconomics, and former President of Ain Shams University; Governor Abdel Hamid Abu Musa, Governor of Faisal Islamic Bank; Prof. Atef Al-Awam, Advisor to the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research for Financial Affairs; Prof. Mohamed Mahmoud Abdel-Majeed Mahmoud, former Vice President of the Central Auditing Organization; Prof. Abdel-Rahman Alian, Professor of Costing and former Vice Dean for Education and Student Affairs; Prof. Kamal Hussein, Professor of Costing and former Vice Dean for Education and Student Affairs; Prof. Mohamed Lotfy Hassouna, Professor of Accounting and former Head of the Accounting Department; Prof. Eglal Hafez, Professor of Business Administration and former Shura Council Member; Prof. Yamen El-Hamaki, Professor of Economics and former Shura Council Member; Prof. Gehan Ragab, Professor of Marketing and Advisor to the Vice President for Community Service and Environmental Development Affairs and member of the National Council for Women.
The meeting was also attended by the heads of the academic department councils, the coordinators of the academic programs, the Director of the Quality Assurance and Performance Evaluation Unit, the directors of the centers and special units, and several faculty professors. At the end of the session, the council approved the proposal submitted by the dean of the faculty to honor the former deans of the Faculty as part of the graduation ceremony for the 2025 academic year, which is scheduled to be held during Egypt's celebrations of the glorious October 2025 victory.
