As part of the Faculty of Arts at Ain Shams University’s commitment to celebrating its talented students and honoring distinguished role models, the faculty organized a special ceremony to honor champion student Reem Tamer Roshdy Sayed, a first-year regular student in the Department of Geography, in recognition of her outstanding athletic achievements that have proudly elevated the name of Egypt and Ain Shams University in local and international arenas.
The honoring ceremony was held under the patronage of Prof. Mohamed Diaa Zain El-Abedeen, President of Ain Shams University; Prof. Rami Maher Sadek Ghali, Vice President for Education and Student Affairs; and Prof. Hanan Kamel, Dean of the Faculty of Arts, and under the supervision of Prof. Mohamed Ibrahim Hassan Mohamed, Vice Dean for Education and Student Affairs.

In her speech during the ceremony, Prof. Hanan Kamel affirmed that the Faculty of Arts takes great pride in its students who achieve success across various fields, noting that Reem represents an honorable model of the ambitious Egyptian young woman who has succeeded in winning championships and raising the name of her country and university high. She also stressed the faculty’s commitment to supporting talented and distinguished students and providing them with an encouraging environment to continue their journey of success and excellence.
For his part, Professor Mohamed Ibrahim Hassan, Vice Dean for Education and Student Affairs, expressed his pride in the student’s remarkable achievements at both the local and international levels, emphasizing that her sporting accomplishments are a source of pride and reflect the promising capabilities and great potential of the university’s female students.
This recognition comes as part of the faculty’s keenness to celebrate its distinguished students and promote a culture of appreciation and pride in successful role models who inspire their peers. Reem Tamer Roshdy has become an exemplary model for Egyptian youth through her remarkable championships and achievements in athletics, judo, and pole vaulting, proving that determination and ambition can create excellence in more than one field.

The student earned this recognition following a series of outstanding athletic achievements, including winning first place in the Under-20 Pole Vault Championship in Tunisia, third place at the African Senior Championships in Ghana in pole vaulting, first place nationwide in pole vaulting, and first place nationwide in judo.
Prof. Hanan Kamel, Dean of the Faculty, presented the student with a certificate of appreciation and a financial incentive award in recognition of her distinguished achievements, which reflect determination and the ability to balance academic studies with sports at the highest levels.
