The Minister of Higher Education and the President of Ain Shams University Inspect Educational and Medical Projects at the University

Dr. Abdel Aziz Qansouh, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, accompanied by Dr. Mohamed Diaa Zain El Abedeen, President of Ain Shams University, inspected several educational and medical projects at Ain Shams University on Sunday morning. The inspection was attended by a number of ministry and university officials, as well as hospital directors.

The minister began his tour with a visit to the Innovation and Entrepreneurship Building (I-HUB) on the university campus, where he reviewed the facilities and the state-of-the-art technology used in its halls.

The visit also included an inspection of Ain Shams Specialized Hospital, where the minister toured the outpatient clinics and various service units. He received a detailed briefing on the hospital's healthcare services and reviewed completed and operational projects aimed at improving the healthcare system for citizens.

The Minister inspected the Medical City to follow up on the progress rates of the projects being implemented, and to review the latest development and efficiency improvement work that the university hospitals have witnessed during the past period. The tour of the Medical City included inspecting the main gates, Arab Al-Muhammadi Park, and the general site works, as well as visiting the Oncology and Nuclear Medicine Treatment Center and the Radiotherapy Unit, then the Ain Shams Medical Research Center (MASRI), the main blood bank, the Specialized Children’s Surgery Hospital, the new Emergency Hospital, then the Simulation Center and the Central Computer Laboratory at the Faculty of Medicine.

Dr. Abdulaziz Qansouh praised the university's ongoing development and modernization projects across various academic, research, and service sectors. He emphasized that these efforts reflect the university's commitment to enhancing the quality of education and improving services for students and researchers. He also highlighted the university's distinguished faculty and expertise, which contribute effectively to supporting the educational and research system and serving the community.

The minister affirmed that the projects currently underway are part of the state's plan for continuous development and expansion of university facilities. This aligns with the requirements of comprehensive development and contributes to providing an integrated educational environment that fosters creativity and innovation, all under the continued support of the political leadership for the higher education and scientific research sector.

He pointed out that the expansion of university infrastructure and facilities is proceeding in parallel with efforts to qualitatively develop academic and research programs, thereby enhancing the university's competitiveness and raising the quality of its educational and research outputs, as well as supporting its role in serving the community and contributing to achieving the Sustainable Development Goals.

For his part, Dr. Mohamed Diaa Zain El Abedeen affirmed that the university is continuing to implement an ambitious plan to develop the medical city according to the highest international standards, supporting the Egyptian state's direction towards improving the quality of health services and providing advanced medical care befitting the Egyptian citizen, and contributing to supporting the healthcare system and achieving the Sustainable Development Goals.

The President of University pointed out that the university continues to implement its strategies aimed at enhancing the position of the medical city as one of the largest and most modern university medical cities in Egypt, with its advanced treatment, educational and research capabilities that serve millions of citizens annually.

The visit was attended by Dr. Omar Sherif Omar, Secretary General of the Supreme Council of University Hospitals; Dr. Ghada Farouk, Vice President of the University for Community Service and Environmental Development; Dr. Amani Osama Kamel, Vice President of the University for Graduate Studies and Research; Dr. Rami Maher Ghali, Vice President of the University for Education and Student Affairs; Dr. Mohamed Salehien, Vice President of Ain Shams University for Academic Affairs; Dr. Ali El-Anwar, Dean of the Faculty of Medicine and Chairman of the Board of Directors of University Hospitals; Dr. Tarek Youssef, Executive Director of University Hospitals; Dr. Hesham Anwar, Director of the Specialized Hospital; Dr. Yasser Megahed, Director of the University's Engineering Consulting Center; and Dr. Hesham El-Ghazali, Director of an Egyptian Medical Research Center.
