Establishing a Research Services Unit at the Faculty of Arts

Prof. Hanan Kamel, Dean of the Faculty of Arts, at Ain Shams University, announced the establishment of the “Researcher Services” unit at the faculty, under the supervision of Prof. Hatem Rabie, Vice Dean of the Faculty for Graduate Studies and Research, and the Dean of the Faculty thanked Prof. Mohamed Diaa Zain El Abedeen, President of Ain Shams University, for his efforts in encouraging the implementation of new ideas within the framework of the continuous endeavor to develop and advance the research community at the University.

         
   
         

For his part, Prof. Hatem Rabie, Vice Dean of the Faculty for Postgraduate Studies and Research, confirmed that the aim of establishing the unit was: It is to provide assistance to members of the supporting staff and graduate students registered in the master’s and doctoral stages, and to save time and overcome all the difficulties they face during the process of registering scientific dissertations or forming discussion committees. He also explained that Dr. Ahmed Al-Sadawi, a lecturer in the Library and Information Department, was the director of the unit, who in turn confirmed that the services provided by the unit include:

1- Activate the university email.

2- Completing the procedures for translating abstracts into English.

3- Finishing the linguistic proofreading procedures for scientific theses.

4- Helping researchers upload their research on the Faculty of Arts Yearbook website.

5- Completing the procedures for the letter of acceptance for publication in the college yearbook.

6- Finishing the procedures for requesting a citation examination and uploading it to the information network website, and following it up until the final report is received.

7- Announcing conferences and helping researchers register for them.

8- Collecting the necessary statements to complete the formation procedures.

The unit provides another set of services to faculty staff and researchers, including:

1- Preparing training courses and workshops to develop the research skills of faculty staff and graduate students.

2- Providing advisory services to faculty staff and researchers in the field of scientific research and publishing.

3- Assisting faculty staff and researchers in selecting internationally classified scientific journals.

4- Directing researchers towards appropriate methods and tools for collecting scientific material.

A headquarters has been allocated to the unit, on the first floor, with the aim of making it easier for researchers, and all developments will be announced on the faculty’s official page.
