Clarification Statement from Ain Shams University Regarding Social Media Claims About the Closure of the Demerdash Hospital Gate

Ain Shams University and its affiliated hospitals have been monitoring the videos and comments circulating on social media containing inaccurate claims regarding the closure of the main gate leading from the metro station to Demerdash Hospital, along with the accompanying unacceptable insults directed at the university hospitals, their administration, and staff.

In the interest of transparency and to correct misinformation for the public, the administration of Ain Shams University Hospitals affirms the following:

Firstly, the construction of the walls and gates for the medical city is part of a comprehensive plan to secure medical facilities, protect patients, visitors, and staff, and regulate entry and exit to ensure the safety of everyone within the medical complex.

Second: The medical city includes several main and secondary gates and entrances that operate regularly, in addition to dedicated emergency entrances that operate 24/7, ensuring that no patient is delayed in receiving medical care at any time.

Third: The gate in question (Arab Al-Muhammadi Garden Gate) is not a main public entrance, but rather a regulatory gate overlooking a garden area. It is operated according to security and organizational considerations and was originally designated to serve oncology patients and clinic visitors. It is open daily during specific hours that coincide with official clinic hours:

From 6:30 AM to 10:00 AM

And from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM

This measure is part of organizing traffic flow and securing the area behind the medical city, and is not intended to prevent entry or disrupt public services, as has been rumored.

Ain Shams University affirms that its university hospitals prioritize providing medical services to patients without any obstacles, and that all main entrances are operating efficiently to serve visitors, especially in critical and emergency cases.

The university also strongly condemns the offensive language and verbal abuse directed at medical institutions and their staff, who play a vital national and humanitarian role in serving hundreds of thousands of patients annually.

The university urges everyone to verify information before sharing it and to rely on official data issued by the relevant authorities, in support of stability and in respect for the efforts of doctors and healthcare workers.

Ain Shams University and its medical hospitals administration affirm their full commitment to providing safe and organized medical services that preserve patient dignity and the safety of the community.
