During six intensive working days, the Egyptian medical team, in collaboration with British experts, achieved a breakthrough in saving children's lives. The achievements included:

18 open-heart surgeries for complex cases, all performed successfully without any complications, marking the highest number of operations compared to previous visits.

50 consultations and diagnoses to provide precise medical advice and determine treatment plans.

Six complex cardiac catheterization procedures with the direct participation of the foreign team to ensure the exchange of expertise in the latest techniques.

This visit comes under the auspices of Prof. Ali El-Anwar, Dean of the Faculty of Medicine and Chairman of the Board of Directors of University Hospitals, Prof. Tarek Youssef, Executive Director of Hospitals, Prof. Mohamed El-Ghannam, Director of the Hospital for Cardiovascular Diseases and Surgery, and Prof. Ashraf El-Sebaei (Head of Department).

The events were held with joint international and local sponsorship, including the British charity "Healing Little Hearts," along with the ongoing support of the "Yahya Arafa Foundation" (the main supporter of the Pediatric Cardiac Surgery Unit), and the active participation of several civil society organizations in Egypt.

The visit wasn't limited to treatment alone; it also included an ambitious Continuing Medical Education (CME) plan. The unit witnessed:

* The organization of intensive lectures and workshops for the nursing staff throughout the visit.

* The signing of a strategic agreement to enroll Egyptian nurses in the British Hospital's Nursing Academy, with the aim of graduating "Clinical Leaders" who will be responsible for coordination and ongoing training within the unit.

In a related context, the warm Egyptian welcome touched the heart of the head of the British medical mission, who expressed his immense satisfaction with the visit's success on his official social media accounts.

The head of the mission published several posts praising the high medical competence of the Egyptian team and the impressive results of the surgical procedures performed at Ain Shams University Hospitals.
