Ain Shams University invites faculty staff to apply for the fourth edition of the Arab Book Award
In light of the announcement by the Doha-based Arab Book Award that nominations are now open for its fourth cycle, Ain Shams University invites all eligible faculty staff to apply promptly and take advantage of this distinguished academic opportunity. The award is presented under the auspices of Prof. Amany Osama Kamel, Vice President of the University for Graduate Studies and Research.
The Arab Book Award is an annual award based in Doha, Qatar, dedicated to books written in Arabic. It aims to honor researchers, authors, publishers, and institutions active in the Arab book industry.
The award also seeks to recognize scholarly and intellectual works that make a genuine contribution to human knowledge, while encouraging and supporting publishers and other stakeholders in the publishing sector, thereby contributing to the development of the Arab book industry and enhancing its global competitiveness.

• Total Value: US$1,000,000 (one million) to be distributed between the two award categories

• Application Deadline: May 28, 2026
Second: Key Eligibility Requirements (Single Book Category)
• The book must be written in Arabic (translations are not accepted).
• It must have been published within the last four years.
• It must be a print publication with an International Standard Book Number (ISBN).
• It must be at least 30,000 words long.
• It must fall within one of the approved fields: linguistic and literary studies, social and philosophical studies, historical studies, Islamic studies, dictionaries, and encyclopedias.
• It must adhere to originality, scientific methodology, and proper documentation, and offer a clear contribution to knowledge.
• The author must be living.

• Awarded to individuals or institutions in recognition of impactful and far-reaching knowledge projects that have made a significant scientific contribution and added value to human knowledge.
