Higher Education: The Academy of Scientific Research Announces Extension of Applications for the YIELD Project to Support Deep Tech Entrepreneurship

In line with the state and the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research’s strategic orientation toward optimal investment in human capital and preparing university students for both local and international labor markets, the importance of fostering scientific innovation and supporting young talents has become increasingly evident, particularly considering the rapid advancements across various scientific and technological fields worldwide.

Within this context, the Academy of Scientific Research and Technology (ASRT) plays a pivotal role in building bridges of international scientific cooperation, seeking to maximize the benefits of its partnerships with a wide range of major global research organizations and institutions.

The Academy focuses on providing high-quality and distinguished opportunities for students at Egyptian universities and institutes, enabling them to enroll in intensive training programs within advanced international research environments characterized by diversity and openness, and offering the highest levels of scientific and professional qualification.

This international cooperation aims to achieve a set of qualitative objectives, most notably:

*Enhancing students’ scientific and practical competencies by equipping them with applied skills and direct hands-on experience in the latest fields of science and technology.

* Promoting students’ engagement in research and development systems, opening new horizons for their participation in advanced scientific projects, and enabling interaction with experts and researchers from diverse nationalities and cultures.

* Enabling students to explore the latest research methodologies and innovative technologies, while developing their critical thinking and teamwork skills.

Accordingly, students’ ability to compete effectively at both regional and international levels is strengthened, and their readiness to engage in the global labor market or pursue postgraduate studies at leading international institutions is enhanced, thereby supporting national development and reinforcing Egypt’s scientific and research standing globally.

The Academy of Scientific Research and Technology announces the extension of the application period for participation in the YIELD project, funded by the European Union under the Interreg NEXT MED program. The project offers an opportunity for creative youth teams aged 18 to 30 from Egypt, Jordan, Palestine, Greece, and Italy to take part in a challenge to develop innovative solutions for the blue, green, and circular economy (BGCE), particularly projects utilizing technologies such as AI, IoT, Robotics, and CleanTech to address challenges related to water security, smart energy, waste management, and climate resilience.

A total of 50 teams (10 from each country) will be selected to receive:

* Intensive training: tailored business acceleration programs designed to develop entrepreneurial skills.

* Mentorship and guidance: sessions with specialized experts in technical and administrative fields.

* International networking: direct engagement with stakeholders in cross-border entrepreneurial ecosystems.
