Ain Shams University Explores Expanding Academic Collaboration with Peking University

Prof. Amany Osama Kamel, Vice President of Ain Shams University for Graduate Studies and Research, received an academic delegation from Peking University, headed by Prof. Xu Ming, Dean of the School of Global Health, to discuss prospects for scientific cooperation and the exchange of expertise between the two sides.

The meeting was attended by Prof. Sherweit El-Ahmady, Executive Director of the International Relations and Academic Collaboration Sector, and Prof. Shereen Fawaz, Director of International Relations at the Faculty of Medicine.

         
   
         

Prof. Amany Osama Kamel expressed her pleasure at this productive meeting, affirming Ain Shams University’s commitment to expanding cooperation with leading global universities. She noted that such partnerships support the advancement of the research ecosystem, promote knowledge exchange, and enhance the preparation of research cadres capable of innovation and international competitiveness.

She added that cooperation with Peking University represents a strategic step toward engaging with pioneering international experiences, particularly in advanced research fields that contribute to addressing global challenges and achieving sustainable development.

The visit aims to explore opportunities for collaboration, discuss mechanisms for implementing shared research and academic programs, and promote the exchange of expertise among researchers across disciplines of mutual interest.

         
   
         

The program also included an inspection tour of the International Relations and Academic Cooperation Sector, during which Prof. Sherweit El-Ahmady delivered a comprehensive presentation highlighting the university’s capabilities, the sector’s activities, and its role in supporting international partnerships.

The visit further featured extensive discussions with Dr. Amal Kamal, Professor at the Faculty of Pharmacy, to explore research collaboration opportunities in areas of common interest, thereby strengthening scientific integration between both institutions.

This visit comes within the framework of Peking University’s participation in the Faculty of Medicine’s conference through a scientific session organized by the Department of Public Health. It aims to foster cooperation across various scientific fields, while also exploring opportunities to support and advance research collaboration between the two sides.

Notably, Peking University is ranked among the world’s top 15 universities according to major international rankings. It is distinguished by its leadership in several advanced research fields, including genetics, artificial intelligence, oncology, and neuroscience, reflecting its adoption of cutting-edge technologies and modern scientific trends.
