In a move that strengthens Egypt's position on the advanced technology map and embodies the state's vision of localizing applied research and enhancing the role of universities as engines of innovation, the Board of Directors of the Nanotechnology Center at Ain Shams University held its periodic meeting, chaired by Prof. Amany Osama Kamel, Vice President of the University for Graduate Studies and Research. The meeting focused on monitoring the completion of equipment and infrastructure and activating the center's research and service systems.

The meeting was attended by Prof. Yasser Megahed, Director of the University's Engineering Consulting Center; Prof. Mohamed Nabil Sabry, Vice Chairman of the Board; Prof. Mohamed Abdel-Hay Ahmed, Director of the Center; and board members Prof. Diaa Khalil, Prof. Saad El-Sayed Hassan, Prof. Tamer Abdullah Sharaf, and Prof. Bassam Saad. Dr. Ahmed Sami and Engineer Mohamed Adel, representing the implementing company, also participated in the discussions.
The council reviewed several engineering observations, and the discussions also included a number of technical observations directed to the implementing company.
Prof. Amany Osama Kamel emphasized the importance of each laboratory supervisor documenting the technical observations specific to their laboratory to ensure the work is completed according to the highest standards, thus guaranteeing the center's readiness to operate at full research and service capacity.
The council also reviewed the implementation status of the X-ray machine licensing procedures, followed up on the contract with an expert and a safety officer from the Nuclear Regulatory Authority's list, discussed the equipment distribution plan within the laboratories, and reviewed the latest developments in equipment procurement. Furthermore, the council discussed the mechanism for providing the services and analyses that the center will offer, ensuring a balance between operational sustainability.

The Vice President of the University also directed the preparation of a comprehensive introductory booklet documenting the establishment of the Nanotechnology Center, its vision and mission, and its role in serving the research and industrial sectors, in addition to reviewing the organizational structure and internal division of the laboratories, and providing a detailed explanation of the functions of the advanced devices supported by illustrative images, in order to provide a comprehensive scientific and guiding reference that reflects the status and capabilities of the center, while benefiting from the experiences of international research centers and universities to reach the best standards of presentation and documentation.
This meeting comes as part of Ain Shams University's plan to enhance its research capabilities in advanced technological fields and support the innovation ecosystem, thereby contributing to scientific research and linking its outputs to the needs of industry and sustainable development.
