A New Scientific Achievement for Ain Shams University: Prof. Rania Hathout Wins the Abdul Hameed Shoman Award in Medical and Health Sciences for 2025

Prof. Rania Mohamed Hafez Hathout, Professor and Head of the Department of Pharmaceutics and Industrial Pharmacy at the Faculty of Pharmacy, Ain Shams University, has achieved a major scientific accomplishment by winning the 2025 Abdul Hameed Shoman Award in the field of Medical and Health Sciences for her outstanding research on biopharmaceutical drug delivery systems using nanotechnology.

This recognition comes in appreciation of her pioneering research contributions, which represent a qualitative advancement in developing more efficient and effective therapeutic approaches. It also reflects the distinguished status of Ain Shams University and its leadership in supporting scientific research and innovation at both the regional and international levels.

Prof. Mohamed Diaa Zain El-Abedeen, President of Ain Shams University, Prof. Amany Osama Kamel, Vice President for Postgraduate Studies and Research, and the University Awards Office extend their sincere congratulations to Prof. Rania Hathout on this prestigious scientific achievement, praising the efforts of the faculty members in elevating the university’s academic and research standing.

It is noteworthy that Prof. Rania Mohamed Hathout, Head of the Department of Pharmaceutics and Industrial Pharmacy, Faculty of Pharmacy, Ain Shams University, was the recipient of the Khalifa Award for Education (Distinguished University Professor at the Arab World level) in 2024. She has also been ranked among the top 2% of the world’s most influential scientists for five consecutive years.

She received the State Award for Excellence in Technological Sciences in 2021, the Medal of Excellence (First Class) for scientific distinction in 2017, and the State Incentive Award in Advanced Technological Sciences Serving the Medical Fields in 2014. In addition, she won the Obada International Prize in 2020, the Academy of Scientific Research awards (individual category) in 2016, 2017, and 2020, as well as the European Science Foundation Award (France) in 2013. She was also selected among the top 100 distinguished women in Egypt in the field of science in 2022.
