The Education and Student Affairs Sector Concludes Its Participation in the 14th Egyptian Universities Youth Week with an Outstanding Record of First-Place Awards
Ain Shams University concluded its participation in the 14th Egyptian Universities Youth Week, hosted by Minia University from September 25 to 30, with an outstanding record of achievements and top rankings across various competitions, reflecting the excellence of the University’s students and the diversity of their talents and abilities in sports, scientific, cultural, artistic, social, and scouting activities.
Ain Shams University’s participation in the 14th Egyptian Universities Youth Week was organized through the Education and Student Affairs Sector, General Administration of Youth Welfare, under the patronage of Prof. Mohamed Diaa Zain El-Abedeen, President of the University, and Prof. Rami Maher Ghali, Vice President for Education and Student Affairs.
The participation was held under the general supervision and administrative coordination of Mr. Ibrahim Saeed Hamza, Assistant Secretary-General of the University for the Education and Student Affairs Sector, and coordinated by Prof. Yehia Mostafa, Professor at the Faculty of Specific Education and the University’s Coordinator for the Universities Youth Week, and Ms. Asmaa Khater, Acting Director-General of the General Administration of Youth Welfare.
Ain Shams University’s scouting team topped the list of achievements, securing first place in all 11 categories in which it competed following strong competition among participating university delegations.
The areas of excellence included Religion for Life; Scientific and Environmental Applications; Economy and Citizenship; Leadership Aspirations; Carnival; Scouting Traditions and Arts; Arts and Literature; Life Skills; Public Service and Community Development; Health and Sports; and Scouting Values and Attitudes.
At the individual level, Ain Shams University students achieved several outstanding rankings. Mostafa Ibrahim Abdel Hamid, a student at the Faculty of Agriculture, won the title of Ideal Scout Leader at the university level, while Hanin Mohamed Gamal, a student at the Faculty of Women, won the Universities Campfire Entertainment title. Mahmoud Ashraf Abdel Salam, a student at the Faculty of Arts, was named Ideal Male Scout, while Noha Mostafa Fouad, a student at the Faculty of Agriculture, won the title of Ideal Female Scout.
Scientific Achievement and the Overall Ranking Shield
In the scientific activities, Ain Shams University crowned its participation by winning the Overall Ranking Shield, alongside several top positions. Khaled Mohamed Omar El-Shawaf, a student at the Faculty of Engineering, won first place in the Mechatronics category for his project “Palletto,” an innovative Egyptian robot developed at Ain Shams University that converts a manual pallet truck into an autonomous vehicle.
Ammar Yasser, a student at the Faculty of Pharmacy, won second place and the silver medal in the science fiction story competition for his story “Room 402.”
Gold in Sculpture and Silver Medals in Arts and Choir
In the artistic activities, Judy Nour El-Din, a student at the Faculty of Archaeology, won first place and the gold medal in sculpture, while Hager Hassan Youssef, a student at the Faculty of Education, secured second place and the silver medal in handicrafts. Nora El-Sayed Salama, a student at the Faculty of Arts, also won second place in the art workshop competition in drawing.
The Ain Shams University Choir continued its achievements by securing second place in the group singing competition under the training and direction of Maestro Mahmoud Sami.
The choir included the following students: Ahmed Walid Mansour, Faculty of Business; Khaled Saeed Sadek, Faculty of Arts; Adham Ahmed Gamal, Faculty of Al-Alsun; Ahmed El-Sayed Abdel Kader, Faculty of Arts; Mohamed Salama Abdeen, Faculty of Business; Giovanni Abdo, Faculty of Engineering; Malak Mohamed Ibrahim, Faculty of Al-Alsun; Hend Ahmed Samir, Faculty of Al-Alsun; Salma Ahmed Abdel Razek, Faculty of Arts; Nour Amr El-Sayed, Faculty of Arts; Sohaila Mohamed Mohamed, Faculty of Al-Alsun; and Lamis Othman Abdel Halim, Faculty of Arts.
Outstanding Achievements in Cultural and Social Activities
In the cultural activities, Ain Shams University students continued to achieve top rankings in competitions involving 310 male and female students representing 31 universities. Sara Soufi Sobhi, a student at the Faculty of Al-Alsun, won second place in the Holy Quran competition for female students.
In the social activities, Janna Mohamed Ahmed won the second-place trophy and silver medal in the individual chess championship. She also teamed up with Farah Ashraf Abdel Gawad to win the second-place trophy and silver medal in the female students’ team chess championship.
Khaled Ismail also secured joint second place and a silver medal in the Ideal Student Competition.
This strong participation reflects the commitment of Ain Shams University’s Education and Student Affairs Sector to supporting student activities, discovering and developing students’ talents and abilities, and promoting their participation across sports, scientific, cultural, social, artistic, and scouting fields, contributing to the development of well-rounded students capable of creativity and competition.
