Ain Shams University Opens Nominations for Faculty Staff for the 2026 State Awards Granted by the Academy of Scientific Research and Technology
As part of Ain Shams University’s commitment to supporting scientific and research excellence, encouraging faculty staff and researchers to apply for prestigious scientific awards, and recognizing their outstanding contributions to science, technology, and innovation, and under the patronage of Prof. Amany Osama Kamel, Vice President of Ain Shams University for Graduate Studies and Research, the University announces the opening of nominations for the 2026 State Awards and the Academy of Scientific Research and Technology Awards, in accordance with the terms and regulations governing each award.
First: 2026 State Awards
The State Awards include the following categories:
1. Nile Awards
Two awards are granted, each valued at EGP 500,000, in addition to a gold medal, as follows:
•One award in Sciences, covering basic, agricultural, medical, and engineering sciences.
•One award in Advanced Technological Sciences serving the fields of science.
2. State Appreciation Awards
A total of 10 awards are granted, each valued at EGP 200,000, in addition to a gold medal, distributed as follows:
5 awards in the fields of basic, agricultural, medical, and engineering sciences.
5 awards in Advanced Technological Sciences serving the aforementioned fields of science.
3. State Awards for Excellence
A total of 7 awards are granted, each valued at EGP 100,000, in addition to a silver medal, distributed as follows:
•One award in Basic Sciences.
•One award in Agricultural Sciences.
•One award in Medical Sciences.
•One award in Engineering Sciences.
3 awards in Advanced Technological Sciences.
4. State Incentive Awards
A total of 40 awards are granted, each valued at EGP 50,000, in the fields of sciences and advanced technological sciences, covering the following disciplines: Mathematics – Physics – Geology – Chemistry – Biology – Agriculture – Medicine – Engineering.
Applicants for these awards must not be over 40 years of age as of December 31, 2026.
Second: 2026 Academy of Scientific Research and Technology Awards
The Academy of Scientific Research and Technology also announces its 2026 awards, which include:
1. Pioneers Awards
A total of 4 awards are granted, each valued at EGP 100,000, in the following fields:
• Basic Sciences.
• Agricultural Sciences.
• Medical Sciences.
• Engineering Sciences.
The award is granted to a distinguished senior Egyptian scientist with outstanding institutional, scientific, or technological achievements.
2. Women’s Awards
The Women’s Awards cover the following fields:
Agriculture and Food Sciences – Health and Pharmaceutical Sciences – Water, Energy, and Environmental Sciences – Social Sciences, and include:
A. Women’s Appreciation Awards:
A total of 4 awards are granted, each valued at EGP 50,000, to women over the age of 45 as of December 31, 2026.
B. Women’s Incentive Awards for Young Researchers:
A total of 4 awards are granted, each valued at EGP 30,000, to female nominees who are not over 45 years of age as of December 31, 2026.
Third: Nomination Deadlines
To ensure the timely completion of nomination procedures and review of applications, please adhere to the following deadlines:
For completing nomination procedures and reviewing applications:
• Deadline for receiving nomination files from the University’s faculties:
November 19, 2026.
• Deadline for submission to the awarding body:
December 31, 2026.
Fourth: Documents Required to Complete Nomination Procedures through Ain Shams University
Faculty staff and researchers wishing to be nominated for the State Awards and who meet the eligibility requirements must submit the following documents:
1- An official nomination letter approved by the faculty.
2- Nominee’s details, including name, academic rank/position, faculty and department, email address, and telephone/WhatsApp number.
3- A recent employment status statement indicating the nominee’s current position and confirming that no disciplinary penalties have been imposed, in accordance with the University’s applicable procedures.
4- Justification for nomination.
5- An updated CV including the nominee’s scientific output, achievements, awards, and honors.
