Ain Shams University has begun winning medals during its participation in the 14th Egyptian Universities Youth Week, hosted by Minia University from September 25 to 30, with student delegations from Egyptian universities taking part.

In the athletics competitions, held as part of the sports activities, Ain Shams University students won two gold medals and one silver medal. Student Ziad Helal won the gold medal in the 100-meter sprint, while student Nada Nabil claimed gold in the javelin throw. Student Mohamed Abu El-Maati Galal secured second place and the silver medal in the long jump.

Ain Shams University is participating in the 14th Egyptian Universities Youth Week through the Education and Student Affairs Sector – General Administration of Youth Welfare, under the patronage of Prof. Mohamed Diaa Zain El-Abedeen, President of Ain Shams University, and Prof. Rami Maher Ghali, Vice President for Education and Student Affairs.

The participation is under the general supervision and administrative coordination of Mr. Ibrahim Saeed Hamza, Assistant Secretary-General of the University for the Education and Student Affairs Sector, with coordination by Prof. Yehia Mostafa, Professor at the Faculty of Specific Education and Ain Shams University Coordinator for the Universities Youth Week, and Ms. Asmaa Khater, Acting Director-General of the General Administration of Youth Welfare.

Ain Shams University students continued to excel across the various activities of the week. As part of the scouting activities, Prof. Essam Farahat, President of Minia University, inaugurated the Scout and Guide Festival, where he toured the Ain Shams University pavilion and expressed his appreciation for the outstanding performance of the participating students and their commitment to representing their university in an honorable manner.

In the artistic activities, Ain Shams University students participated in the Amateur Fine Arts Exhibition, with students from various faculties taking part. Students from the Faculty of Specific Education also participated in the Specialized Fine Arts Exhibition, in addition to taking part in a drawing workshop held on the sidelines of the exhibition.

In the men’s five-a-side football competitions, the University team secured two consecutive victories in the group stage, defeating Menoufia University 2–0 and Suez University 1–0 to advance to the Round of 16.

The women’s five-a-side football team also defeated Al-Azhar University 3–0, securing a place in the Round of 16.

In volleyball, the Ain Shams University team continued its winning streak with a 2–0 victory over Suez University in the group stage, advancing to the Round of 16.

In the social activities, Ain Shams University’s men’s and women’s chess teams continued their successful performances. The men’s team won three consecutive rounds against Kafrelsheikh University, Fayoum University, and Zagazig University, while the women’s team defeated Alexandria University in the fourth round of the chess competition.

The University students also participated in the Hadith and Arabic calligraphy competitions.

The participation of Ain Shams University’s Education and Student Affairs Sector reflects its commitment to supporting student activities, discovering and developing students’ talents and capabilities, and promoting their participation in various sports, social, artistic, and scouting activities.
