Ain Shams University made a strong start to the 14th Universities Youth Week, hosted by Minia University from September 25 to 30, achieving outstanding results in several sports, social, arts, and scouting activities.

In the sports competitions, Ain Shams University’s volleyball team defeated Zagazig University 2–0 in the group stage.

The men’s five-a-side football team also beat Lotus University 3–1 in the group stage, while the women’s five-a-side football team defeated Benha University in their group-stage match.

In the social competitions, Ain Shams University students won all four rounds. In the first round, they scored a 4–0 victory over teams from Fayoum, Beni Suef, and Benha universities. The University’s students also defeated Zagazig University 1–0 in the second round.

In the scouting competitions, the Ain Shams University team impressed the audience with its campfire performance. The show explored how, throughout history, many have tried to suppress art and stifle human emotion. These attempts have failed and will continue to fail, because singing is more than melodies and words: it is a sincere expression of renewed hope and love that withstands every attempt to erase it.

In the arts activities, the Ain Shams University Choir continued preparing for its performance, while students in the visual arts activity worked on their pieces ahead of the week’s events.

This participation reflects the commitment of Ain Shams University’s Education and Student Affairs Sector to supporting student activities, discovering students’ talents, developing their abilities, and encouraging their participation in sports, social, arts, and scouting activities.

Ain Shams University is participating in Universities Youth Week through its Education and Student Affairs Sector and the General Administration for Youth Welfare, under the patronage of Prof. Mohamed Diaa Zain El Abedeen, President of the University, and Prof. Rami Maher Ghali, Vice President for Education and Student Affairs.

Overall supervision and administrative coordination are being provided by Mr. Ibrahim Said Hamza, Assistant Secretary-General of the University for the Education and Student Affairs Sector. Coordination is also being handled by Prof. Yehia Mostafa, Professor at the Faculty of Specific Education and the University’s coordinator for Universities Youth Week, and Ms. Asmaa Khater, Acting Director-General of the General Administration for Youth Welfare.
