Students of the Faculty of Computer and Information Sciences Win Third Place in Military Technical College Cybersecurity Competition

The team from the Faculty of Computer and Information Sciences at Ain Shams University achieved third place in the Military Technical College Cybersecurity Competition (ICMTC), a new accomplishment highlighting the outstanding level of the faculty's students and their ability to compete in advanced cybersecurity challenges.

This achievement comes under the patronage of Prof. Mohamed Diaa Zain El Abedeen, President of Ain Shams University, and Prof. Rami Maher Ghali, Vice President for Education and Student Affairs, and under the supervision of Prof. Rasha Mohamed Ismail, Dean of the Faculty of Computer and Information Sciences at Ain Shams University.

This achievement came after fierce competition among more than 100 participating teams, with 20 teams qualifying for the final stage. The teams competed in the Capture The Flag (CTF) competition through a variety of challenges in cybersecurity, including web hacking, mobile application hacking, cryptography, reverse engineering, and digital forensics.

The competition concluded on July 13, 2026, with the team from the Faculty of Computer and Information Sciences at Ain Shams University securing third place among the finalists.

The team consisted of:

* Omar Mohamed Hassan – Level 3, Information Systems (IS) program

* Omar Ibrahim Elsayed – Level 4, Information Systems (IS) program

* Youssef Anan – Level 4, Cybersecurity program

* Khaled Ahmed Elsayed – Level 4, Cybersecurity program

This achievement reflects the interest of the Faculty of Computer and Information – Sciences Ain Shams University in developing the applied skills and competitive capabilities of its students, and preparing qualified personnel to keep pace with the rapid developments in the field of cybersecurity and to meet the needs of the labor market in one of the most important technological fields.
