The Vice President of Ain Shams University for Education and Student Affairs inaugurates a specialized training course in psychological counseling and guidance for supervisors of university dormitories
Prof. Rami Maher Ghali, Vice President of Ain Shams University for Education and Student Affairs, inaugurated the specialized training course in psychological counseling and guidance for supervisors of university dormitories. The course, organized by the university's Education and Student Affairs sector, reflects the university's commitment to developing the skills of dormitory staff and enhancing their ability to interact effectively with students and provide them with the necessary support during their stay.
The inauguration was attended by Prof. Hisham Rami, Professor of Psychiatry, Director of the Dr. Ahmed Okasha Center, and Director of the University's Psychological and Moral Support Committee, and Dr. Mayar Medhat Nawara, Professor of Psychiatry at the Faculty of Medicine and a member of the University's Psychological and Moral Support Committee.
The opening lecture addressed several important topics, including methods for handling emergencies and crises, and the proper mechanisms for dealing with situations that may require rapid intervention, thus contributing to providing appropriate support to students in a timely manner.

The training course is being held under the general supervision and administrative coordination of Mr. Ibrahim Saeed, Assistant Secretary of the University for Education and Student Affairs.
Prof. Rami Maher Ghali emphasized that organizing this course comes within the framework of the Education and Student Affairs sector's commitment to developing the work system within university dormitories and enhancing the efficiency of staff in dealing with students, particularly with regard to psychological and social aspects.
He emphasized the crucial role of dormitory supervisors in monitoring any changes in student behavior or psychological state and addressing them consciously and responsibly, thus contributing to the swift detection and appropriate resolution of problems.
He added that attention to students' mental health is a key component of the university's comprehensive care system, affirming Ain Shams University's commitment to providing a safe and supportive campus environment and fostering collaboration among the university's various sectors and specialized departments to ensure the best possible care for students.

The training program continues throughout August in the conference hall of the Republic Building at the university's student housing complex. It covers a number of topics related to student counseling and psychological support, most notably:
Fundamentals and skills of effective communication with students.
Principles of psychological support and coping with stress.
How to detect behavioral problems early.
Methods of dealing with emergencies and crises.
Raising awareness of preventive measures within university dormitories.
The course is organized as part of the Ain Shams University Education and Student Affairs sector's commitment to providing a safe and supportive university environment for students and enhancing the psychological care system within university dormitories.
