From Dream to Achievement… Ain Shams University Chronicles Its National Contributions to Building the Grand Egyptian Museum

In line with its leading national role in supporting major national projects, Ain Shams University represented by the Sector of Community Service and Environmental Development., is organizing a major celebration titled: “Ain Shams University: National Leadership Shaping the Future… the Grand Egyptian Museum as a Pivotal Role with Enduring Contributions.” The event is held under the patronage of Prof. Mohamed Diaa Zain El-Abedeen, President of Ain Shams University, and Prof. Ghada Farouk, Vice President for Community Service and Environmental Development.

The celebration comes as part of the sector’s educational activities and will take place on Wednesday, 21 January, at 5:00 p.m., at the Faculty of Law Auditorium on the university’s main campus.

The event will feature a series of presentations by professors from the Faculty of Engineering at Ain Shams University who took part in the construction of the Grand Egyptian Museum and contributed to carrying out one of the most precise and largest engineering operations involved in the transfer of antiquities, most notably the relocation of the statue of Ramses II along with a number of massive archaeological artifacts.

The speakers participating in the event include:

Prof. Yasser Mansour, Emeritus Professor of Structural Engineering and General Coordinator of the Grand Egyptian Museum Project (2000–2010); Prof. Fathallah El-Nahhas, Emeritus Professor of Structural Engineering, Prof. Mostafa Rostom, Professor of Design and Production Engineering, Prof. Tamer El-Nady, Professor of Design and Production Engineering and Acoustic and Vibration Design; Prof. Tamer Radwan, Professor of Structural Engineering; and Prof. Ahmed Fathy Abdel Aziz, Emeritus Professor of Structural Engineering and Material Properties.

The celebration will also include a detailed presentation on the concept and scenario of the museum display at the Grand Egyptian Museum, delivered by Prof. Mamdouh El-Damaty, former Minister of Antiquities and Professor of Archaeology and Ancient Egyptian Civilization at Ain Shams University, reviewing the museum vision and its cultural and civilizational dimensions.

This celebration underscores the pivotal role of Ain Shams University as a leading national institution, contributing through its knowledge and expertise to supporting the path of development and building the future, by actively participating in the greatest national projects undertaken by the Egyptian state.
