Ain Shams University and its university hospitals have been closely following videos and comments circulated on some social media pages and platforms containing inaccurate claims regarding the closure of the main gate leading from the Metro station to El-Demerdash Hospital, along with unacceptable offensive remarks directed at the university hospitals, their administration, and staff.

In the interest of transparency and ensuring that the public is accurately informed, the Ain Shams University Hospitals Administration wishes to clarify the following:

First: The construction of perimeter walls and access-control gates around the Medical City forms part of a comprehensive plan to secure medical facilities, protect patients, visitors, and staff, and regulate entry and exit in a manner that ensures the safety of everyone within the medical campus.

Second: The Medical City has several main and secondary gates and entrances that operate regularly, in addition to dedicated emergency entrances that remain open 24 hours a day, ensuring that no patient is prevented or delayed from receiving medical care at any time.

Third: The gate in question (Arab El-Mohamady Garden Gate) is not a main public entrance. Rather, it is an access-control gate overlooking a garden area and is operated in accordance with security and organizational considerations. It was originally designated primarily for oncology patients and visitors to the outpatient clinics and is open daily during specific periods aligned with official working hours and outpatient clinic schedules, as follows:

From 6:30 a.m. to 10:00 a.m.

From 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m.

These measures are intended to regulate movement and secure the rear section of the Medical City campus and are not intended to restrict access or disrupt services to the public, as has been falsely claimed.

Ain Shams University emphasizes that its university hospitals place the provision of unhindered medical care to patients at the forefront of their priorities. All main entrances remain fully operational and efficiently serve patients and visitors, particularly in critical and emergency cases.

The University also strongly condemns the offensive language and verbal abuse directed at medical institutions and their staff, who perform a vital national and humanitarian role in providing healthcare services to hundreds of thousands of patients every year.

The University urges everyone to verify the accuracy of information before sharing it and to rely on official statements issued by the competent authorities, in support of stability and out of respect for the efforts of physicians and healthcare professionals.
