Honoring The President of Ain Shams University with the Shield of Excellence, and the Outstanding Performance of the University’s Education and Student Affairs Sector with 21 Awards Across Various Fields at the 13th Ibdaa Festival

In a new achievement added to its distinguished record, Ain Shams University shined at the 13th Ibdaa Festival for University Youth, held under the patronage of His Excellency President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi and organized by the Ministry of Youth and Sports. The university won 21 awards across various artistic, cultural, and scientific fields, in addition to receiving the prestigious Shield of Excellence, which was awarded to Prof. Mohamed Diaa Zain El-Abedeen, President of Ain Shams University.

The festival witnessed intense competition among Egyptian university students in various creative fields. However, Ain Shams University students managed to stand out with their talents and capabilities, securing top ranks and valuable awards that reflected the high standard of student activities within the university. These results affirm the university's commitment to developing students' skills in all fields, further demonstrating the leadership and diverse talents of its students.

Prof. Prof. Mohamed Diaa Zain El-Abedeen, President of Ain Shams University, expressed his happiness and pride in this great accomplishment by the students, affirming that both the number of awards and the Shield of Excellence are the result of continuous efforts made by the university, particularly the Education and Student Affairs Sector, to support student talents and foster a creative and innovative environment. He also praised the outstanding level of student participation in the festival and appreciated the efforts of the supervising students and faculty members who provided support and guidance.

         
       
         

The awards received by Ain Shams University covered a wide range of categories, including visual arts, theatrical performances, music and singing, scientific innovations, religious chanting, Christian hymns, folk and performing arts, and more.

The university’s awards were as follows: In the field of visual arts, student Menna Allah Mahmoud Ahmed won third place in sculpture, and student Ahmed Haitham Mohamed also secured third place in graphic design. In the group religious chanting category, the university’s team won third place, while in Christian hymns, the university choir earned second place.

In the field of specialized theatrical performances, student Mary Ishak Ibrahim won the Best Pamphlet Design award for the play “The Incidents of El-Shabrawy House,” and student Sama Magdy Ibrahim was awarded third place for Best Actress in the same production. The university’s specialized theater team also took third place for their performance of “The Incidents of El-Shabrawy House.”

In amateur instrumental performance, the university’s team won third place. In specialized individual instrumental performance, student Ahmed Magdy El-Sayed earned second place in solo performance, and student Maria Shady Halim won an award for Best Original Work composed by a student. The university’s specialized instrumental team claimed third place.

In musical theater, student Mohamed Abdel Aziz Abu Khalil received the award for Best Set Design for “Adham El-Sharqawy,” while student Abdullah Abdel Wahab Kamel won Best Lighting for the same production. Student Zakaria Nasser Hathour received second place for Best Actor in musical theater, and the university’s musical theater team came in third.

In the field of folk and performing arts, director Monadel Antar won first place for Best Choreography, coach Ahmed Rami was awarded first place for Best Coach, and student Sohaila Mohamed Amer won first place for Best Performance. The university’s folk and performing arts team achieved first place.

In the scientific activities category, the university’s team won third place in scientific innovation in the field of robotics and artificial intelligence, and first place in cybersecurity and information innovation.

In total, Ain Shams University won 19 awards in artistic activities, both individual and team, and two awards in scientific fields, bringing the overall number of awards to twenty-one, the highest number received by any university participating in the festival.

The Ibdaa Festival is considered one of the most important national events aimed at discovering and supporting young talents in Egyptian universities. It seeks to stimulate creativity and innovation among students while enhancing their cultural and artistic awareness. This new achievement by Ain Shams University further confirms its pioneering role in supporting gifted and creative students and enriching Egypt’s artistic and cultural scene.
