Ain Shams University Dormitories Welcome Delegations Participating in the 12th African University Games

As part of Ain Shams University’s participation, represented by the Education and Student Affairs Sector, in the 12th African University Games “Cairo 2026,” and under the patronage of Prof. Mohamed Diaa Zain El Abedeen, President of Ain Shams University, and Prof. Rami Maher Ghali, Vice President of the University for Education and Student Affairs, the University Dormitories welcomed a number of student delegations participating in the Games, reflecting the University’s readiness and capacity to host major sporting and youth events and provide the highest standards of care and support for participating delegations.

Preparations at the University Dormitories to receive the delegations were carried out as part of an integrated plan developed by the Education and Student Affairs Sector, under the administrative supervision and coordination of Mr. Ibrahim Saeed, Assistant Secretary-General of the University for the Education and Student Affairs Sector. Through the General Administration of University Dormitories, all available human, logistical, and service resources were mobilized to ensure that the delegations are welcomed and accommodated in an environment befitting the stature of Ain Shams University and the scale of this major African event.

The General Administration of University Dormitories raised its level of preparedness to the maximum, with accommodation facilities fully prepared, various services upgraded, and reception and accommodation procedures carefully organized. Precise mechanisms were also put in place to follow up with the delegations and meet their needs around the clock, ensuring smooth procedures and providing a safe and comfortable environment throughout their participation in the Games.

During the hosting of this event, Ain Shams University Dormitories stand out as a fully integrated accommodation system that goes beyond the traditional concept of university housing, offering delegations hotel-standard accommodation. This includes fully equipped lodging facilities, comprehensive services, open-buffet dining, and continuous care, alongside qualified teams working around the clock to ensure the comfort of the delegations and provide them with the necessary support from the moment of their arrival until the conclusion of their participation.

The General Administration of University Dormitories has also mobilized all available resources to serve the delegations, while intensifying on-site follow-up and maintaining continuous coordination among work teams to ensure a swift response to any needs or requirements. These efforts reflect the extensive organizational work undertaken by the Education and Student Affairs Sector to ensure the success of the University’s participation in this continental event.

         
   
         

The University’s Medical Supervision Department has also ensured the highest standards of healthcare for participating delegations by providing fully equipped ambulances and a specialized medical team operating around the clock. These measures ensure a rapid response to emergencies and the provision of necessary medical care throughout the Games.

These efforts coincide with Ain Shams University’s preparations to host a number of competitions as part of the African University Games “Cairo 2026.” Several sporting events will be held at the University’s sports facilities, underscoring the readiness of its infrastructure and resources to host major sporting events and highlighting the integrated role played by the Education and Student Affairs Sector in organization, hosting, and care.

Ain Shams University, represented by the Education and Student Affairs Sector – General Administration of Youth Welfare, is participating in the 12th African University Games “Cairo 2026,” hosted by Egypt from September 8 to 16, 2026. The event brings together approximately 2,000 athletes and officials representing 82 universities from 18 African countries in a major sporting and youth gathering that unites students from universities across the continent, opening broad avenues for communication and cultural exchange alongside athletic competition.

         
   
         

Through its participation in and hosting of the Games, Ain Shams University affirms that the Education and Student Affairs Sector is one of the key pillars of the University’s capacity to host major events. Through integration and coordination among its various departments and the mobilization of available resources and expertise, the Sector seeks to provide comprehensive experience for participating delegations and present a distinguished image of the University to its guests from universities and countries across Africa.
