A delegation of Ain Shams University students visits the Cairo International Book Fair in its 55th session under the slogan “We create knowledge... we preserve the word”

A delegation of Ain Shams University students witnessed the 55th session of the Cairo International Book Fair, which is held under the patronage of President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, President of the Republic, and carries the slogan “We create knowledge...we preserve the word.” Its activities are held during the period from January 25 to February 6, at the Center Egypt International Exhibitions.

This comes within the framework of the General Command of the Armed Forces’ keenness to build bridges of communication with Egyptian university students and raise the spirit of loyalty and belonging among students, and Ain Shams University’s keenness to raise the cultural and scientific level and educate its students in various fields of knowledge. Therefore, the Popular and Military Defense Forces, led by Major General Walid Hamid Al-Hamaki, Commander of the Popular and Military Defense Forces, and in cooperation with Ain Shams University under the auspices of Prof. Mohamed Diaa Zain El-Abedeen, President of Ain Shams University and Prof. Ghada Farouk, Vice President of the University for Community Service and Environmental Development Affairs, under the supervision of Colonel Staff Officer. Abu Al-Hassan Abdel-Monsef Abu Al-Hassan, Director of the Department of Military Education at Ain Shams University, visited the Cairo International Book Fair.

   
   

The visit comes within the directives of the leadership of Ain Shams University regarding the necessity of activating field visits and participation for university students, as they form students’ awareness, add experience to them, and help them develop their cultural and artistic abilities in addition to the scientific aspects.

The leadership of Ain Shams University confirmed that this event is one of the most important bridges linking Egyptian culture to other Arab and international tributaries, and it also represents an extension of the enlightening role and influence that Egypt always contributes to various sciences and knowledge. Therefore, the university is keen to visit a delegation of university students and provide all Ways to ensure that students visit all pavilions so that their message of consolidating Egypt’s cultural leadership is conveyed.

The delegation of university students also inspected a large part of the exhibition halls, and visited a number of different publishing houses, to learn about their contents and the activities they offer, and to listen to the opinions and experiences of the exhibitors, as they visited a number of pavilions at the exhibition, including the pavilion of the Ministry of Defense, which contained an explanation of the details of the pavilion and its works through hologram technology, which the ministry’s pavilion applies for the first time in the context of technological development and digital transformation. The presentation tells, through holograms, about the life of Field Marshal Ahmed Badawi, the character of the pavilion in the exhibition this year.

   
   

The students also visited the Ministry of Interior’s pavilion, which provides special facilities for people with special abilities and people with Special Needs. The pavilion displays its publications that provide a clear definition of the Ministry’s activities with regard to combating terrorism, national security, the Police College curricula, and more. They also visited the pavilion of the National Center for Persons with Disabilities, to see the activities, and the publications it presents to exhibition goers.

At the same time, they were keen to visit the pavilion of the Egyptian General Book Authority; To review the Authority’s latest publications of ancient heritage books, including books by the writer Taha Hussein, the Encyclopedia of Description of Egypt, and the Encyclopedia of Ancient Egypt. He also visited a number of pavilions of cultural bodies, various publishing houses, and the Abu Dhabi Center for the Arabic Language, to inspect the exhibits and its latest publications.

The visit concluded with a free tour for the university students inside the various pavilions of the book fair. The students expressed their happiness in participating in this visit and their pride in the achievements of the armed forces recorded in the pavilion of the Ministry of Defense. The students also praised the exhibition and the efforts made in the current session in terms of the wonderful organization in the various pavilions.
