With pictures: The Faculty of Computer and Information Sciences celebrates its new and old students

Under the patronage of Prof. Ghada Farouk, Acting President of Ain Shams University, and Prof. Abdel Fattah Saoud, Vice President of Ain Shams University for Education and Student Affairs, Prof. Mamdouh Abdel Aleem, advisor to the Vice President of Ain Shams University for Education and Student Affairs for student activities, and Prof. Najwa Badr, Dean of the Faculty of Computer and Information Sciences, held a reception ceremony for new and old students at the Faculty of Computer and Information Sciences for the academic year 2023/2024, which was held under the supervision of Prof. Ibrahim Saeed, Assistant Secretary-General of the University for Education and Student Affairs, in the presence of Prof. Hala Mushir, Vice Dean of the Faculty of Computer and Information Sciences for Education and Student Affairs, and Prof. Hatem Rabie, professor at the Faculty of Arts and leader of the Students for Egypt family at Ain Shams University, and Dr. Sameh Awadallah, leader of the Students for Egypt family at the Faculty of Graduate Studies of Childhood.

         
   
         

During the ceremony, which was organized by the Student Union of the Faculty of Computer and Information Sciences in cooperation with the Youth Welfare Department at the faculty,

Prof. Mamdouh Abdel Aleem transferred greetings from Prof. Ghada Farouk, Acting President of the University, and Prof. Abdel Fattah Saoud, Vice President of the University for Students, congratulated the students on joining one of the most prominent faculties at Ain Shams University, saying, “You are lucky to have become students at the Faculty of the Future.” He also urged the students to participate in various student activities.

In her speech to the students, Prof. Nagwa Badr, Dean of the Faculty, affirmed that the Faculty of Computer and Information Sciences places the philosophy of connecting students with the labor market as an important priority, pointing out that a graduate of the Faculty of Computer and Information Sciences, at Ain Shams University, is awaited by multiple job opportunities locally and internationally, especially with the increasing demand for this specialization, which has become an indispensable element in various fields.

         
   
         

She confirmed that the rate of hiring graduates from the Faculty of Computer and Information Sciences is almost 100%, given the great diversity in the fields of computer science and the advanced technology that is being developed day after day.

Regarding participation in student activities, Prof. Najwa Badr pointed out that the faculty is distinguished by the presence of specialized activities in the computer and information sector that refine students’ technical and technological skills and help them join local, Arab, and international competitions specialized in the fields of computer science.

She added that the faculty has signed many partnerships with major companies working in the field locally and internationally, which provides students with opportunities for early involvement in the labor market and increases their practical experience, which gives them many skills, especially as the curriculum keeps pace with its international counterparts.

Prof. Hala Mushir, Vice Dean of the Faculty for Education and Student Affairs, reviewed student activities that varied between sports, cultural, artistic, scientific, scouts, and other activities. She urged students to combine academic excellence with student participation in activities because of the skills and distinctive personal characteristics they add to each student.

Prof. Hatem Rabie, leader of the Students for Egypt family, expressed the importance of student participation, calling on students to participate in the Students for Egypt family as it is one of the largest student families in the republic that provides diverse opportunities for young people to truly and effectively participate in various activities and fields, which qualifies them to be promising models capable of building the future of the dear homeland, Egypt, especially since youth are the main dependents in the process of construction and development.

The reception included a presentation of the various activities offered by student families within the faculty and how to participate in them, amid a large student presence.
