Prof. Mahmoud El-Meteini, President of Ain Shams University, inaugurated new developments in the university's hospitals, in the presence of Prof. Ayman Saleh, Vice President for Graduate Studies and Research, Prof. Amr Shaker, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of our Health Foundation, Prof. Ali Al-Anwar, Dean of the Faculty of Medicine and Chairman of the University Hospitals Board of Directors, Prof. Tariq Youssef, Executive Director of Hospitals, Prof. Hala Sweed, Vice Dean of the Faculty of Medicine for Community Service and Environmental Development, Prof. Osama Mansour, Vice Dean of the Faculty of Medicine for Postgraduate Studies and Research, Prof. Tariq Muhammad Youssef, Director of Al Batinah Hospital, Prof. Ashraf Omar, former dean of the Faculty of Medicine, Prof. Samia Abdo, Director of Infection Control and Deputy Executive Director of Hospitals, and a number of department heads.

         
   
         

The intensive care unit for the heart and blood vessels, tuberculosis and fungus laboratories at the Internal Medicine Hospital, and the ophthalmology department were opened after their development, in addition to the garden affiliated with the Surgery Hospital at the university hospitals.

The developments come within the framework of the cooperation program between Ain Shams University Hospitals and Our Health Foundation, in partnership with Nasser Social Bank and Abc Bank, who are working to develop the health care system in Egypt, including the establishment and development of a number of intensive care units in various hospitals affiliated to Ain Shams University.

In his speech during the ceremony, Prof. Mahmoud El-Meteini, President of the University, expressed his happiness at reopening the intensive care unit for heart patients at the Internal Medicine Hospital, after a hiatus that lasted for more than two years due to the need for renewal, indicating that the development comes in response to the needs of the increasing number of patients and the important role that intensive care units play in treatment, The unit contributes to providing advanced medical services to 2448 patients annually.

         
   
         

The university president praised the hospital work system, which works in great harmony and a spirit of cooperation among them, thanking everyone who contributed to these developments, led by Prof. Ayman Saleh, he described him as a friend and companion of Striving, who put his fingerprints on all the achievements, stressing that the university administration has developed an integrated vision for the development of the medical city and that Ain Shams University had the lead in naming its hospitals as the medical city.

For his part, Prof. Ayman Saleh, Vice President for Postgraduate Studies and Research, expressed his happiness at being in the place where he had the honor to work as its director for five years, explaining that hospitals deserve all the support from social arms such as banks, as they are educational hospitals that direct their treatment free of charge to a large segment of patients.

He added that Ain Shams University had the lead in establishing a cardiopulmonary resuscitation unit that operates 24 hours a week for free, and thanked everyone who contributed administrative or technical work to witness these developments today, noting that the developments are the result of the continuous work and effort of an integrated team, stressing that the plan and effort are extended and continuous.

         
   
         

Amr Shaker, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Sehatna Foundation, commented, "At the beginning of this year, we celebrated the opening of new units for intensive care for heart patients, at the Heart Center of the Heart Academy, and today we meet together to celebrate a new achievement, the development of the intensive care unit for heart patients in the internal hospital, after a hiatus of more than two years ago", expressing his pride in the role played by Ain Shams University Hospitals in providing the necessary health care for all segments of society, which is provided through the most important medical cadres and competencies in Egypt.

Shaker added that our health foundation has contributed more than 240 million pounds to support the development of the health system in Egypt, in cooperation with its partners from the private sector and civil society institutions, of which 99 million pounds have been allocated so far to develop Ain Shams University hospitals.

In his speech, Prof. Ali Al-Anwar thanks the successful partners who contributed to providing better health care for a large segment of Egyptians, namely, Our Health Foundation, Nasser Social Bank, and Abc Bank, stressing that Ain Shams University and its institutions enjoy the confidence of the banking sector.

         
   
         

And Prof. Tariq Youssef, CEO of the hospital, presented a video showing the developments in the care unit and the ophthalmology department. He also thanked Our Health Foundation, which worked to provide the various requirements in record time despite the economic obstacles that exist for the care unit, and nominated partners for these successful achievements, wishing for more joint cooperation between these partners, while Prof. Tariq Mohamed Youssef, Director of Al-Batinah Hospital, said during the ceremony that the opening comes after two years of hiatus and that the intensive care of the heart at Ain Shams University is one of the oldest sponsorships established in the seventies.

He added that the new cardiovascular intensive care unit includes 17 new beds for heart patients, equipped with the latest necessary medical equipment, at a total cost of 25 million Egyptian pounds, which contributes to providing medical care to more than 2,248 patients annually.

And Mr. Ahmed Attia, representative of Nasser Social Bank, conveyed greetings from His Excellency Minister Nevine Al-Qabbaj, Minister of Social Solidarity, who did not delay in meeting the request of Ain Shams University hospitals, indicating that the university is one of the prominent names that agree with the social role of Nasser Bank, which is an arm of the Ministry of Social Solidarity, stressing the role of Nasser Bank is to contribute to the community development of health and education and direct full support to them.
