The Meeting of the Council of Presidents of the Confucius Institute between Ain Shams University and Guangdong University

Yesterday, Wednesday, via video conference, a meeting of the Council of Presidents of the Confucius Institute was held at Ain Shams University and Guangdong University, in the presence of His Excellency Prof. Dr. Mahmoud El-Metini, President of Ain Shams University, Prof. Dr. Esraa Abdel-Sayed Hassan, Director of the Confucius Institute, and Prof. Dr. Shahira Samir, Executive Director of the International Relations and Academic Cooperation Sector, Prof. Mustafa Refaat, director of international cooperation at the university, and Prof. Sherwat Al-Ahmadi, director of the expatriate office at the university.

On the Chinese side, Prof. Dr. Jiao Fangtai, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Confucius Institutes, Director of the Office of Confucius Institutes at Guangdong University of Foreign Studies, the Chinese Director of the Confucius Institute at Ain Shams University, and Director of International Cooperation at Guangdong University of Foreign Studies attended.

At the beginning of the meeting, His Excellency Prof. Dr. Mahmoud El-Metini, President of Ain Shams University, welcomed the honorable attendees via video conference technology, and expressed his happiness with the progress that the Confucius Institute, Ain Shams University, had reached during the last period.

The attendees praised the progress achieved by the Institute in four years, with activities that exceeded all expectations, and the website of the Chinese Ministry of Education praised them. The Chairman of the Chinese Board of Directors also congratulated Prof. Dr. Esraa Abdel Sayed on the occasion of receiving the Sheikh Hamad Award for Translation for the year 2021.
