In support of sustainable development... Ain Shams University offers a specialized course on environmental impact assessment for projects

In line with Ain Shams University's commitment to promoting environmental awareness and supporting national talent in accordance with the state's vision for sustainable development, the Faculty of Graduate Studies and Environmental Research announced the launch of a professional online training coursetitled "Environmental Impact Assessment for Projects." This course complies with the legislative requirements stipulated in Egyptian Environmental Law No. 4 of 1994 and its executive regulations.

Prof. Siham Ahmed, Dean of the Faculty, explained that the course focuses on empowering trainees to prepare environmental impact assessment studies with high efficiency and to acquire skills in analyzing the environmental impacts of projects using advanced tools such as the Leopold Matrix.

The Dean added that the course covers several key areas, including the legislative and regulatory framework, the role of the Environmental Affairs Agency (EEAA), and project classifications (A, B, and C).

The Environmental Management Plan (EMP) encompasses mitigation plans, monitoring programs, and contingency plans, in addition to its practical component. This includes training on report structuring, alternative analysis, and risk management through workshops and real-world case studies.

It is worth noting that the course targets a wide range of professionals and academics, including environmental consultants, engineers, environmental officers in government agencies and companies, those working on development and contracting projects, postgraduate students, and anyone interested in environmental issues.
