The Faculty of Law is organizing a comprehensive seminar on "Challenges of Modern Rental Legislation"

As part of its ongoing academic and community engagement, the Graduate Studies and Research Sector at the Faculty of Law, Ain Shams University, announced a specialized academic seminar entitled "Legal and Economic Challenges in Implementing Modern Legislation Regarding the Rental of Built Premises," to be held on Tuesday, May 5, 2026

The seminar is held under the auspices of Prof. Mohamed Diaa Zain El Abedeen, President of Ain Shams University, and Prof. Amany Osama Kamel, Vice President for Graduate Studies and Research, and under the supervision of Prof. Yassin El Shazly, Dean of the Faculty of Law, as part of the Faculty's rich cultural season.

The symposium is set to bring together a high-level panel discussion featuring leading figures in Egyptian law, economics, and the judiciary. Speakers will include: Prof. Mohamed Ibrahim El-Shafei, Professor of Economics and Vice Dean for Education and Student Affairs, who will chair the session and speak on the economic dimensions of rental legislation.

Prof. Ahmed Sharaf El-Din, Professor of Civil Law at the Faculty and Fellow of the Royal Institute of Arbitrators in London, who will address civil and arbitration aspects.

Counselor Ahmed Fathi El-Muzain, Vice President of the Court of Cassation, who will present the judicial perspective on the application of legislation.

Counselor Mohamed Ahmed El-Shahawy, Vice President of the Court of Cassation, will present a seminar to review the practical challenges facing the courts.

The seminar aims to highlight the legal challenges posed by recent legislation regulating the relationship between landlords and tenants, analyze the economic impact of these laws on the Egyptian real estate market, and develop a comprehensive legal framework to facilitate the understanding and application of new legislation in a way that achieves justice and balance.
